This is a very nurturing, encouraging, safe , and fun environment for learning.Diversity and teamwork are strong priorities. Christian teachings are presented with emphasis on grace and love for all. The staff is amazing! Our 2nd grader loves it and so do we.
This has been the most pleasant and welcoming school! We moved from public to private after our daughter was not getting adequate help from her teachers, and that she had already went through 3 different teachers just in the first few months of second grade. The changes in my child are more than a blessing she has reached goals and has performed way better than imagined possible. she came home her first full week and was writing and reading in cursive. This school has been an absolute blessing. They accept scholarships from step-up.
My daughter has been with Good Shepherd since she was 2yrs old. This daycare/school has Phenomenal teachers, staff, and can’t forget Pastor! My daughter has grown so much and learned so much because the teachers are dedicated to their kids. They potty trained her, taught her letter, sounds, colors, numbers, and so much more. When she had outgrown her class but was still younger they advanced her with older kids. They have developed her into a little girl who is now ready to graduate VPK with reading skills. She is going into Kindergarten with more skills than most other kids her age who did not go to this daycare/school. We are hoping to keep her there for Kindergarten because she loves each one of her teachers and this school has been so great to our family. I could not imagine her going anywhere else! It is a tight nit daycare/school who love their kids and families. Also, their classrooms are clean, neat, and have everything necessary for your child to succeed! When I say this place is exceptional I can truly say that with all my heart. I am very picky and I searched for a daycare for my daughter for a month before choosing Good Shepard. They were the best decision I made for my daughter! You won’t be disappointed!
We loved them and sent multiple others to their school because it was such a great, loving environment for my 3-year-old who started there after he was too much for another daycare. Things were great for a while, but started going downhill when a new director started who was unaware of my child's special needs. They kicked him out pretty suddenly leaving me in a really bad position trying to find daycare because the young caregivers couldn't handle him. No trying to work things out or come up with a solution. I'm sad it ended like this because it seemed like such a good fit before they gave up on him. I hope that they will find better help and provide better training for preschool "teachers" to deal with toddler behaviors.
My son attended Good Shepherd in early 2000 from kindergarten through 8th grade. He then went on to public school for high school and later attended college where he received his BA in education. He has now come back full circle and is teaching there. I can not tell you how much this school shaped my son into the man he is today. The values instilled in him as a child carried on through his years of growing up. Yes, you will hear good things and bad things about this school, that is how it has been throughout the 50+ years that that school has been there. However, I will say no matter the adversity they face, the grace of that school is what always keeps it standing! I can guarantee you if you talk to any of your friends or neighbors and mention Good Shepherd, someone you know will say "oh I went there"! That is because that school has withstood the test of time and I can't wait for the day my grandchildren will go there to carry on the family tradition.
