Poor Treatment of Staff — Parents, Take Note I’m deeply disappointed with Good Beginnings Daycare and feel compelled to share my experience. While they might appear warm and nurturing on the surface, what happens behind the scenes is a different story. The management shows little respect for their staff. They are overworked, underpaid, and treated as if they’re disposable. High turnover is constant — you rarely see the same teachers for long because many can’t tolerate the stressful, disrespectful environment. Instead of supporting and training their staff, management piles on unrealistic demands and criticizes more than they encourage. Happy, motivated teachers are key to quality childcare. If you don’t treat your employees well, it directly impacts the kids — and it does. When teachers are stressed and burnt out, how can they give children the attention and care they deserve? I urge parents to look past the nice paint and cute name. Ask how long the teachers have been there. Talk to staff if you can — you’ll quickly see that Good Beginnings might not be such a good beginning after all.
Our daughter just graduated from Good Beginnings to Kindergarten after two happy years. It is in a house (with big shady backyard for playground) that completely converted into daycare in a residential area. We were very lucky to find this daycare after interviewing several and had not so good experience with one. My daughter told me she wanted to go to this school right after our first visit. The director (previous owner and now retired a few months ago) was very kind, patient, and knows how to talk to kids—I personally learned a lot from her. She had high standards of hiring teachers and I can see that it passes on to the new owner as well. We went through the transition to new owner (as the previous owner retired) with Good Beginnings with no issues at all. I am very happy that Good Beginnings is at good hands- of a kind and hardworking mom of 3 young children who is passionate about running this place. The preschool teacher has been there for many years. She is calm, smart and funny with many jokes and tricks to share with the kids. She is my daughter’s favorite teacher. My daughter recommends this school. She especially likes the school pennies and school store tradition— kids earn school pennies by helping out cleanup, helping others, finishing up lunch…and they can buy small goodies at Monday school store. What a brilliant idea! If you are looking for a daycare, I recommend paying a visit to GB with your child. You can tell a lot by seeing the interaction between the teacher and children.
I can't say enough good things about Good Beginnings Childcare and Preschool! My two daughters spent their formative years here, from ages 2 to 5, and both had incredibly enriching experiences. The warm, friendly teachers made every day exciting and engaging with a range of fun activities and lessons. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed with creative art projects, fun sprinkler days, and even caring for a class pet hamster. The small class sizes—about 10 kids—allowed for personalized attention, and my daughters benefited from both group and individualized reading lessons. By the time they entered kindergarten, they were not only confident basic readers but also skilled in counting (in both English and Spanish), addition and subtraction, and critical thinking through science lessons. The structured yet fun daily schedule and the large playground with a sandbox and gardening box made learning and playtime enjoyable. The small class size also fostered a strong sense of community among families. My older daughter, now 12, remains close friends with many of her GB classmates, and we still enjoy summer BBQs and sports activities with their families. The directors are kind and approachable, and the daily email updates from teachers kept us well-informed and connected with our kids’ experiences. If you're looking for a small, nurturing school where your child will thrive and feel part of a close-knit community, I wholeheartedly recommend Good Beginnings Childcare and Preschool!
If you are looking for childcare, I highly recommend Good Beginnings. The small class size allows for individualized attention and care, the teachers are excellent and highly creative. Full time preschools that are locally owned are a true gem. I highly recommend!
A great preschool for kids! My daughter was at Good Beginnings for 3 years, then we enrolled our son since he was 18 months (the youngest age that they accept) because of all the positive experiences. We feel like family members at Good Beginnings. Teachers are so experienced and responsible, and they love being with the kids! The director of Good Beginnings is another reason we choose here. She is very nice, organized, knowledgeable about child development and always treats us like family and close friends. We highly recommend this place!
