I started with Michigan community action agency as a preschool parent my son is autistic and was diagnosed as nonverbal by age 2 by 3 years old I had met with the preschool and Gladwin and they immediately enrolled him and worked with him for 2 years he did 2 years of preschool and and then he was able to elevate to kindergarten at the elementary school and Gladwin he is now in the third grade and is doing very well he is talking and he has grown up and matured and come a very very long way and I'm very proud of him last year I became homeless due to a divorce and I contacted mid Michigan community action agency again for housing help and Michelle the housing specialist she got me into a two bedroom trailer almost immediately and even got me a housing voucher so I don't have to worry about things like rent or where my money is going because I wasn't working at the time so all I had was my son's SSI money I'm so we are doing very well again and I can honestly say if it wasn't for mid Michigan none of the opportunities that were given to us would have ever came about and I would probably be homeless still and my son probably would not be doing very well if it wasn't for this group of people that take time out of their daily lives to help people so thank you very very much we appreciate everything you've done for us and you will continue to be a good friend to us
