Sometimes Church Isn’t in a Building Today reminded me that being a Christian is more than just Sunday service or a pulpit—it’s about people. It’s about how we treat one another, especially in moments when kindness costs nothing but means everything. I had to Uber to pick up my daughter from camp because I don’t have a car. My daughter—who’s been through four open-heart surgeries—is my whole world. We’ve spent more time in hospitals than most people spend on vacations. So when I arrived early in this summer heat, I just needed a shady place to wait. I walked into the church office thinking maybe I could sit for a moment—like before, when they had let us rest for a bit. But today, the door opened only to put me back out and told you can wait in your car🙂 No “How are you?” No “Can we get you water?” No “Do you need prayer?” Just “Sorry about that,” and the door closed behind me. And that’s what stuck with me—not the heat, not the wait, but the lack. The lack of welcome. The lack of compassion. The lack of what it means to actually be the church. See, I haven’t attended this church before, but I’ve read the reviews. I had hopes. But if this moment was my only glimpse into what this church represents, then I know in my heart—it’s not where I’d bring my daughter. Because church is supposed to be where broken people are held, not pushed away. Where those struggling to carry their cross don’t have to carry it alone. You never know what someone is going through. You never know the price of their smile. You never know the weight of their silence. Being a Christian isn’t a title—it’s a calling to see people, love people, and be there even when it’s inconvenient. Especially when it’s inconvenient. So, this isn’t an attack. This is a reminder. Sometimes the only Jesus someone may ever meet is you. Make that encounter count. In Jesus mighty name !

I love this church. I have been attending approximately 30 years now, and it truly is home. The congregation is like family. The pastor is a great speaker who preaches biblical truth. The worship team is energetic and professional. They are welcoming and friendly.

I love this church! Everyone is so welcoming and they truly are like a family to me. Each week the sermon always pertains to something to in my life and helps me to learn something new. The music each week is amazing and my kids love the children's ministry program. If you're looking for a church where you can feel right at home, this is the church for you!

I cannot begin to express how much this school has blessed my family. First, we started here in 2020 in the middle of a pandemic. They immediately welcomed us with open arms. Despite this awful year, they made school and summer camp as normal as they could for the kids (taking safety precautions along the way). Middle of the school year, we had some behavioral problems with one of my kids. They walked us through it with grace. I could cry just thinking of how this school saved my family in one of the most challenging years of our lives. I’ll never ever forget it. If you’re considering your child attending this school, please do. They selflessly serve the kids and families every single day. I love you, Gethsemane! ❤️
