My son started at Gaul's shortly after his third birthday. Gaul's provides him with thoughtful and structured activities coordinated with the time of year, or progressive so that learning builds over time, and balances activities with playtime. Gaul's has a diverse group of kids and has teachers that really pay attention to each individual kid's progress and participation. My wife and I are thrilled at what our son has gotten out of his first four months, even at two days each week, and we feel very comfortable with the supervision and tender discipline that is provided.
The owner/director clearly has an issue with children that suffer from developmental delays. And in my sons case a very much MILD case. I think they are unprofessional and have a lack of communication from staff to parent. I was never told my child would not be able to come at all during spring break week since he goes to preschool in town and gets bused to Gauls at 11am. I thought i would be able to bring him in 9am for that week because i even pay for full time (7am-6pm), i was told because they were "understaffed" even when i asked if he could still come at 11 his usual time, i was still told no until i eventually argues her into letting him come at 11 and she made it seem like she did me a favor. Then later told my son was a "handful" because he hits other kids, mind you he is 3, don't all toddlers hit here and there? It was only ever reported to me TWICE in the time frame he was there. I feel like my child was singled out because of his condition, it got further into him needing a one on one to help him eat his lunch, take his coat off, basic needs of a toddler from day to day. Nothing i was ever contacted about until this past Friday before spring break. Which nobody called to tell me anything. Just seemed like they didn't want to be bothered with him. The one teacher is extremely rude and saw her grab a child by the arm and yell at him. Heard a parent complain about her kids diaper constantly being full at pick up time and noticed my child's diaper was also full like just woke up from a nap full. And you can also clearly see that they only favor white children ( we are white, so no I'm not racists). They never tell you what they do there all day long, my kid never comes home with artwork, seems like not much of a curriculum is offered there. I chose this daycare due to convenience to his preschool and also the false "good reviews" online. I would not recommend this daycare to anyone.
I didn’t feel comfortable with my son going here. I feel like they treated him different from the others being as tho he’s of color. They always gave me and my son dirty looks and wanted me to bring my son at 11am everyday because they didn’t want to deal with him all day they always complaint about him so I took him out Immediately!
Best place ever!! Shame they closed!!
