We visit this church every other year when we see family in Shelton. It's a beautiful atmosphere and full of welcoming, kind people. God is glorified in that place. It's like home away from home.
Don't bring your child here. Shelton being very small leaves you with very little options. Being a Christian church, I thought they would be a great option. But I was very mistaken. First of all, they hardly have any workers and don't seem to be hiring new staff. Meaning there is a BUNCH of kids with only one worker that looks beyond exhausted. Not only that, but damn near half the staff or more are TEENS. Please explain to me why their are teenagers watching our babies? On top of that, my daughters clothing is consistently being "misplaced". I've picked her up twice without her socks. And my friend lost her sons jacket here with the teacher telling her that they most likely gave it to another parent. It is cold. And we had to bring thus baby home without a coat that never showed up again. Three coats of my daughters have been broken by them rushing to put it on and now can't even be used anymore. One day bringing my baby there, she didn't want to be there. Which never happens. Me being a single mom, baby has been in daycare since 4 months old. And not once has she made it clear that she didn't want to be there. So seeing that reaction, I told the teacher that I had only one apt that day, and after that apt, my day was open. I told her that if my daughter continued to act out not wanting to be there, then to please call me so that I could pick her up early. There was no call. When i went to pick her up, the teacher then told me that my baby had a very rough day the entire day. I asked her why no one called me to come get her, and she replied with "well I told the office to call you and I guess they just didn't take me seriously". What?? So my baby suffered the entire day and not one person called me after I specifically told them to? Then I get a call one day with the owner telling me that they haven't received a payment in 2 MONTHS. I receive payment through the state. So after calling the state and finding out there was an issue on the states side, the school called me back. I explained the mistake, and then followed it up the question on "why was this issue not brought to me sooner?" They said they send out invoices. Me being covered by the state, I assumed these invoices were just showing what was paid. As I explained to them. I then told them my daughter has been going to daycare for a very long time, i know the process. Why has no one said anything to me? They said it was the parents job to make sure the payment went through. I then said, actually I did my part by calling the state and providing them with the provider number. If the school did not receive confirmation, they should have immediately called me and let me know this. In the whole 2 years of my daughter going to daycare, not ONE daycare will take the child unless the payment was confirmed. They've always made it very clear that they HAVE to have a confirmed payment BEFORE accepting the child into care. So please explain to me why gateway went ahead and took my child for 2 WHOLE MONTHS without confirmed payment? Sorry sweetheart, but no. At that point
My family is traveling from NC on a 3 month trip. We stopped by this church literally by God's calling. We weren't even planning on going this Sunday for the first time in 2-1/2 months of travel. This was the most welcoming church that we visited out of the last 10 or so The people were so friendly even though we told them we were just passing by we wouldn't be back they took our daughter in the nursery and they were super kind if I lived in this area or moved here I would be attending this church The message was by a missionary from Mexico and he gave a great biblical message they let us play on the playground afterwards so our kids could get their wiggles out π. God bless your church. Highly recommend for locals and travelers alike
Great church! As a lifetime church attendee, who has been in the background helping, I visited this church for the first time, and it is doing awesome. Reception: was an interesting experience. It definitely feels like a large, loving family. Unfortunately, it felt like I was outside that family for a few minutes, just watching the good times. However, it wasn't long until a friendly greeter noticed me and introduced me to some people that were very friendly! Can't wait to see them again. π Worship: was amazing! What else can I say? Although when I was attending, they had their youth team on, so I can't rate the usual group. Voice were clear, and understandable (not muffled, and washed-out like some churches) Songs where powerful when they needed to be, and sweet when they could be. The Spirit was there! Come and see. Message: was impacting, Biblical, and coherent. The pastor was sick, but the speaker I saw was lead by the Lord. He did a great job refreshing the stories he told. Everything was clearly cited to look up in the Word (when the scripture wasn't provided). The speaker presented an angle one may not have considered 10/10
It was a God thing that we ended up Gateway. As we drove down the hill the sun was shining down on the church. We had not visited before because we thought with 2 services we might not get to know people. We were wrong. We were greeted by so many sincere kind people. We had been church hunting for a long time. When the service was over and we waked out, we looked at eachother and said "omg we have finally found our home". We were welcomed in just like a part of the family. My husband worked crazy hours with the county at the time, so the 2nd time I attended on my own with our son. So many people asked how my husband was by name, and said to tell him hi, and they were thinking of him. These people really cared. With my husbsnd being in law enforcement it means the world to me to know I have a whole church family that I know will be there for me and our son if need be. God has blessed us beyong measure through Gateway. The messages are always on point. Our pastor references the Bible, but relates it to current things in our lives we may be dealing with. I can trust the messages we recieve from our leadership, because I can see them living it out in their own lives. We have such wonderful mentors around us, as we walk and grow in our relationship with our savior. Having a church you can turn to at any hour for prayer or encouragement is priceless β€
