Do not enroll your child in the program at this school! The new staff at this Head Start site is untrained, unprofessional, and aggressive. Their language and interactions with the children are inappropriate and harmful to their development. This staff clearly needs training and should not be working with young children. Based on our experience there, I can no longer advocate for Head Start. Instead, I will recommend the Unified School Districts, where teachers and staff are required to complete college courses in child development and/or early childhood education to qualify for their positions. Furthermore, the lead teacher must possess a bachelor's degree in early childhood development and education, which is the qualified person you want your child’s first school experience with.
