Franklin Academy

I was initially impressed with Franklin’s facilities and school-year academy programming. However, our experience with the summer camp program was very disappointing due to disorganization, a difficult registration system, and terrible le billing process. More concerning were care issues that led us to withdraw our child, including allowing him to nap times from lunchtime to pickup (4pm) and an incident where my toddler had an accident that went unnoticed until after I picked him up. After leaving the program I received a charge on my card, which is weird because we paid our bill automatically and nobody reached out to me with any billing issues. I later discovered that they sent our account to collections, again without contacting me at all. This is a facility that cares for children, so open and clear communication is important and you will not get that here. Since moving to a smaller daycare, our children are happier and clearly better cared for. I encourage parents to look beyond appearances and prioritize communication, organization, and genuine care.

Franklin Academy is a hidden gem. We had previously been at a corporate daycare, and while it suited our son fine for the early months, we transition him to Franklin at age 1, and we could not be happier. His physical and verbal skills immediately took off, he was more excited to go to school as each day went by, and all of the staff and teachers have come to feel like family. Where we used to get tears at drop off, our son now excitedly waves bye and walks into the building to play with his friends! Plus, they provide quality enrichments, which our son loves, including dance, art, gymnastics, water play (in summer) and eventually swimming and tennis when he is old enough. I can tell from the pictures and videos that they are always rotating the toys and covering different skills/topics, even for the young ones. No other daycare/preschool in metro Detroit offers this amount of indoor space and unique experiences. And, with all of that, the tuition is somehow cheaper than the last place we were at! Really, can't say enough good things about Franklin and how glad we are our son is there.

We have had a kid at the preschool since Fall 2022 and recently joined the athletic club as well. We love the high staff retention rate. Coming from a chain-establishment where our babies had a new teacher every 3 months, we really appreciate getting to know the staff. One thing we had to get used to, is that they run on the public school schedule. When the big kid has spring break, so does the preschool. But they always offer camp to which i can bring my school aged kid as well. Overall we are very happy with the school!

We absolutely loved Franklin Academy for our 2 year old daughter. The administration staff, Lori and Chelsea were so easy to communicate with and you can tell just how much they care about the school and kids. Franklin has great hours and is flexible with before and after care as well! The teachers are also very kind and thoughtful. We would highly recommend if you are in the area!!

My grandson has been attending The Academy for the last two years and we could not be happier with the staff and the school. We are looking forward to another great year. Seeing my grandson at the end of every school day with a big smile on his face after a day of school is the favorite part of my day! My next favorite part is how tired he is at the end of a very busy day, mostly due to all the physical activity he gets at school. He has also come along way with his writing and letter and number recognition. All around a great experience for him!
