Frankfort Ymca Crayon Club

My son attended here for about 7 months. During this time he received several instances where he was bitten and scratched by other children there. They did little to correct the issue except refer us to First Steps to allow them to come and visit with my son during hours. It took a few months before First Steps were finally able to reach him for services. During the time of waiting, my son started picking up on the biting habit that was happening to him because he was not able to express his words. Courtney Burton, his teacher, was not fit to handle the redirection of her class to keep them from biting my son. Her along with the Facility Director, Nena Noe, called a meeting with us and made it out to where my son was the problem. First Steps had only just begun working with my son and they chose to end his time at the Crayon Club which stopped First Steps from reaching him. They used the excuse of his behavior therapist saying that he may benefit on "one-on-one" interaction. This place fills out "Ouch" reports rather than effectively working with the children and instead of providing a room where Archer could work with the First Steps coordinator, Nena chose to kick my son out of her daycare. This place is a joke under Nena's direction. I would greatly consider approaching this facility with caution.

So grateful for this center. My son is so happy here. The place is always clean and the kids seem to always be happy. You never walk in to find screaming/crying kids or smelly hallways, ever. They are very attentive. They do a lot with the kids and have good communication.
