Trying to write to this review without coming off as the “Angry black mom” which is usually what they label you as when you present any concern about your child. So try I’ll make this thorough and straight to the point. My son has had 1 too many incidents of being biting, pushed on and kicked by a specific child. I discovered later on that the child who seemed to be causing turmoil in the class, was the child of one of the staff member. Which I believe is why they were so lenient with the patterns of behaviours. (I’m unsure if it was the same kid that bit my child badly this go around as I didn’t ask. The most recent incident was last week-June 3, 2025 where I excitedly came to pick up my son from an awful long days of work being a psychotherapist and dealing with others mental challenges; just to be met with my sons face marked with a huge bite mark, which ultimately resulted in a break out/ rash the following day. When bringing it to the front desk attention, “Jasmine (who is also responsible for meal prep/feeding the children, and I believe to be the girlfriend of the other staff member with the misbehaved child) nonchalantly and in a condescending tone responded with, “Didn’t you get the incident note tho”. When expressing that this is not enough and I would like to speak to the director, I was met with eye glaring stating she won’t be in until tomorrow. The next day came and I signed my child in hoping to reconcile the situation and hopefully be met with empathy by the director. Jessi was super sweet about it, thankfully and seemed to empathise and hear my obvious concern with the patterns of misbehaviour towards my child. Although Jessie is not the director, she assured me she would speak with her and follow up. When attempting to hand over my sons lunch for the day, (sometimes I have to bring substituted meals as my child follows a restrictive, pescatarian diet) Jasmine refused to take my child’s food and silently looked me up and down three times after attempting to consistently offer the greeting of the day. (Saying Good morning to her ) I was appalled and immediately felt as though she was trying to beat me getting mad over my son being abused. (Seriously, where they do that at??) Again, trying to keep my peace and trying not to act like a fool as I have way too much to lose, I politely just retrieved my child and all of his items from the classroom and proceeded to exit. I informed Jessi of my immediate need to take my son out of their care as at this point there’s no way I can trust the person that prepares my child’s meal or the teachers. I was instructed by Jessie to send the photos that are also attached here to the academy’s email. I emailed them requesting a refund, in addition to expressing my deep concern of how these incidents are handled and the complete unprofessionalism of staff. Do you think the director has yet to reach out and provide any sort of empathy or due-diligence to address the issue??? Absolutely not. I’m mortified and just so disappointed and exhausted of the quality of childcare here in GA. I DO NOT recommend this place to any parent who genuinely cares for their child’s safety and wellbeing.

Breanna is the best! Kids just love her. Im so happy we chose this place and it was mainly because of Breanna.

Foundation Academy has been an essential part of our family for many years. The care that my children has received has been phenomenal. The Academy has also given me peace of mind knowing that they are cared and loved for. Shout out to them Mrs. Marie for taking great care of our children!

Going to give them the benefit of the doubt because I do not have a child that goes here, however, I just witnessed a teacher in red and black plaid pajama pants, red braids in her hair, glasses and a grey sweatshirt sit outside on a pink blanket and allow a small child (maybe just at the age of 1 as this appears to be 1-2 year olds) be tossed around violently by another toddler in a bouncer seat. I have 3 kids, I am all for fun, this was ROUGH. After the teacher looked up from her phone, she pulled the little in the seat backwards by his arms over the back of the chair, essentially dragging him/her. I witnessed all of this while sitting in the pediatricians office next door. Now, with that being said KUDOS to the office staff who IMMEDIATELY RAN outside when I called in to report what I was witnessing. Although the teacher didn’t seem thrilled. Impressed with the quick action of the staff, not so impressed by the teacher.

Most of the staff was nice. My biggest issue was not receiving incident reports. My child was very excited to start “school”. The first day, the teacher said she was happy and played. Then the reports were, she didn’t play and would cry for her mommy. With me she would start to cry if I told her she was going to school. Eventually, I stayed with her to help get adjusted thinking it was just separation anxiety. That’s when I witnessed her being forced off an outside toy by her hair! The teacher told him not to do that when she heard me tell him to stop. I later saw the boy do it again to another child (boy) in the classroom. The next day I asked my child how it went and she said her hair was pulled again. This time instead of just saying something to the teacher I brought it up to the front staff. They said another parent (of a girl this time) already complained and they were going to put the kid in another class. Two days later when I walk into my child's classroom she is already crying and the teacher doesn’t know why. My child then told me her hair just got pulled, the kid that was supposed to be in another class was standing right next to mine. Not one time did I ever receive an incident report. When I went back to get my child’s belongings after taking her out of that daycare, I saw the director (for the first time ever). And told her what happened and why I was taking her out of daycare. She showed no empathy or apologies. All she said was “I know why you’re taking her out”. I can understand not being able to move my child into the appropriate classroom for her age if there is no space. And I can understand that toddlers will bite or pull hair. But the lack of care from the director and not being given information for me to make a decision sooner about my child’s well-being is enough for me to want to help others make a proper informed decision about who protects their children.
