What Parents Say
Note: This is a technical college, not a daycare center. Reviews praise the quality of programs, career outcomes, and most instructors' dedication and support. However, some administrative staff and individual instructors received criticism for poor attitudes and teaching methods.
This review is long overdue. Since graduating from the PN program, taking the NCLEX, and successfully passing, my career has truly taken off. From my very first appointment at the school, I knew I had made the right educational choice. Even before I was accepted into the program, Mrs. Petrie was incredibly motivating and supportive. She recognized my fears about changing careers after 20 years and provided me with the tools and encouragement I needed to pass the entrance exams. Mrs. Leyton was instrumental from start to finish, helping both me and my cohort secure financial assistance to make the program possible. Mr. Demming supported us with resume preparation, shared potential job opportunities, and was always available to answer questions about the nursing industry we were preparing to enter. Throughout the program, I was continually inspired by Mrs. Timukas, Mrs. Marcelak, and Mrs. Osborn. Mrs. Timukas, my course instructor, is caring, passionate, highly knowledgeable, and made the coursework both engaging and enjoyable. Although I had taken previous college courses, this experience was truly unmatched. Early in the program, I nearly withdrew, but Mrs. Timukas noticed and gave me the confidence and motivation I needed to continue. She treated us like family and did everything possible to ensure our success. She never made me feel that my questions were unimportant; instead, she took the time to explain concepts clearly and always encouraged us with a positive attitude. Because of her dedication, I felt fully prepared and confident when taking the NCLEX and entering the nursing field. Mrs. Marcelak, my simulation instructor, created a supportive learning environment. Even when simulations didn’t go as planned, she focused on teaching rather than criticizing. She highlighted what we did well and provided constructive feedback to help us improve. Mrs. Osborn, another PN instructor, was always available to discuss our progress and share valuable guidance, even when she was not directly teaching our class. I truly have no negative feedback about this program. It provided not only an excellent education but also the support and confidence I needed to successfully begin my new career in nursing.
I have called MULTIPLE times asking questions with no success. As an previous student, I am disappointed in this. Every time I call, they either hang up or nobody seems to have answers or guidance. If they KNEW, I can't request and purchase testing without adding the testing site. I find it hard to believe the school isn't informed of testing siting for their students ect.. They refuse to transfer to a knowledgeable person or even ask a fellow worker to see if they may know to be able to provide the appropriate information. This isn't just one time, it is multiple... Please work on this with your front staff.
The job placement person tells you to just go on indeed, that's all he does. So it's not actually a benefit, the guy gets paid for nothing... And he has an assistant! They allow students to stay in school even though they mess with and change settings on welding equipment, very dangerous for everyone in building, especially for the person in the welding booth. Still haven't gotten money back for a certificate test that the company they used was not certified in giving. This college has no standing with local businesses in the welding field.
The school overall is great amazing staff. The application process was great as well. Unfortunately I wouldn’t consider coming to this school if you’re looking to become a CNA the instructor Crystal Anderson is a horrible teacher. She’s verbally abusive and does everything in her power to make the course harder than it is. She makes it a very hostile environment. She makes rude and inappropriate jokes about students. Save your money and time.
Giving a rating of 5 stars because the school itself is absolutely lovely. I went for the CNA program and hope to return for my LPN and eventually RN. Mrs. Jessica (the LPN teacher) is an absolute angel, and Mrs. Redenious who runs the nursing programs, who has been with the school for years are absolutely some of the most kind hearted and caring people I have ever met. However, Ms. Anderson, the CNA teacher is borderline mentally abusive. It was like being back in high school. I was made fun of for the entirety of my program, and I saw her do horrible things to other students as well. I wish the best of luck to all those to take her class. May the odds be ever in your favor. She doesn’t teach much, either. Just scrolls through some stuff and then leaves you to your own devices for the rest of class.
