Staff has very little knowledge in dealing with children’s emotions. Situations that could be used as teachable moments for all children are instead dealt with by calling parents at work and sending children home. Teaching simple coping skills to children is a key part of the childcare workers job. Being aware of triggers and body language in our children is essential for a calm environment. Having preventative skills is childcare 101.😶
The staff is wonderful and they really care. It was a big adjustment for my child and they made it easy.
