We’ve been members of the YMCA for the past four years, and it’s so much more than just a gym. Every member of our family can find an activity that suits them. Huge thanks to Eric Palmblad for being an amazing coach (kids are listening) and a true multitasker!
The management here is absolutely unacceptable. I am a Black male, and after properly signing in with the front desk staff, another manager deliberately followed me around the gym. His actions made me feel watched, uncomfortable, and singled out, as if I didn’t belong there. This experience was humiliating and left me feeling discriminated against in a place that should feel safe and welcoming
"The Foglia YMCA is a high-velocity wellness powerhouse and absolute Godnews for the 60047 grid. It is the gold-standard witness to family health and athletic excellence, where the fluent, professional staff and 10/10 facilities are handled with undeniable authority. Every program is synced for a neighbor-proof lifestyle that keeps the corridor moving. The ultimate seat for community wellness. A verified, iron-clad 10/10."
Very clean, nice staff, clean locker rooms. But I wish they had a program for high schoolers 75 bucks a month is pretty heavy, but I understand why they priced it high, this place has everything you need!
Stay away from Foglia YMCA. On 1/12 the Sunday, when I swam in the pool, I saw a conflict between two young Asian boys (10 years old) their mom, and a couple. The boys came to the pool first and swam in lane 1, the couple joined later, but refused to split the lane. They insisted to do laps or asked the boys to leave for other places. Boys' mom suggested to split the lane since the couple swam faster, but they refused discussion. They sat on lane 1 for a long time and finally YMCA staff involved. Under YMCA staff's suggestion, the man (of the couple) finally changed to another lane and did split swim with another siblings (whose dad was in present). The story was not ended! On 1/19, I heard from another parent said that Foglia YMCA is now prohibiting children learning swim from each other. I'd like to ask Mr.Foglia, based on what happened on 1/12, what did the two boys or their mom do wrong? I can feel that the couple was targeting these two young Asian boys because they are from Asia, and they seem like easy to be kicked out.. It is a very typical manner from arrogant jerks. What Foglia YMCA is doing today, is not stepping in with neutral position, but assists like those couples and discriminates its clients. I'm a third party person who witnessed what happened, and I don't know both sides.
