What Parents Say
Flatbush YMCA Pre-School receives mostly positive reviews praising the welcoming, professional staff and family-oriented atmosphere. However, some parents report operational issues including membership billing problems and inconsistent front desk service.
Who does this YMCA even serve? It’s group classes only (so if you’re looking for a place to lift weights or do cardio before or after work, look elsewhere). Even worse, class offerings are sparse and inconvenient for many who work full time. As a result, this place often seems empty nowadays. It’s a shame that such a nice, big gym goes mostly unused because of the strange decision to operate on a group-classes-only model. At the very least, I’d ask the managers to run more classes. But please, I am BEGGING you to please just be an NYC YMCA again.
Awesome staff! Kashawn and Joey bring great energy, and the kids respond so well to them. Devain, i believe, is the mechanic or building maintenance very helpful and knowledgeable solid energy. The front desk team is also fantastic—always welcoming and helpful. I'm not sure where they hire their staff from, but they’ve got an incredible group of young men and women with bright futures. Great kid programs. Bring back the weight room, and it’s a 5-star experience!
It was a great gala and a great place to come the staff is very good
I went to this YMCA when I was a kid and they offered a wide variety of opportunities for kids, families, and the Flatbush community. Having lived here for years and now teaching in the area, I always want to support my community. I canceled one of my gym memberships because I wanted to go to the YMCA instead. Unfortunately, for whatever this location no longer functions like a regular YMCA. No longer having memberships and only offering classes. I find this to be rather disappointing as it seems the space is not being used what it was initially meant to be used for. Please bring this location back in its truest form. Not what it currently is. Flatbush needs it.
Incompetent staff on the front desk (phone line) all I asked is for more information on pricing and they told me to call back later while chatting with co workers about a date night. People seem to forget they are at work. It's cool I'll take my money elsewhere
