I’m in a season of discerning a new spiritual home and listening closely for the difference between kind words and courageous practice. In Southern faith spaces, the pull toward comfort and order can be strong, and justice sometimes asks more than politeness. I’m visiting because Pastor Beth brings a grounded, attentive presence that suggests care with conviction. I also hold deep gratitude for queer elders and quiet organizers 🏳️🌈 whose faith and labor created room for others long before it was safe to do so. Your legacy continues Terry. Churches entrusted with public support and tax-exempt status carry a responsibility to live transparently and protect the dignity of all people. I’m seeking a community where LGBTQ+ folks are not only welcomed, but meaningfully included, safeguarded, and allowed to lead. #LoveOutLoudTerryFlemming #QueerChurchRevival #QueerGreenBook #Florida #GainesvilleFla <<>>
Beautiful historic buildings. The church hosts numerous lunches, fundraisers and social events. Pastor Beth is a progressive and inclusive pastor. The church is beautiful and the congregation and church members are friendly and polite!
This place was referred to me. I am a special needs mom. I know the limit that this church is only able to help. However this place is not familiar of the importance of special needs kids. For an example I paid my rent and my utilities I was missing 100 from my car insurance. Since I do not have car insurance I can’t take my special needs to school occupational or ABA or speech. My car insurance supervisor was able to send a letter stating that I only owe 100 and then I’ll be able to drive my car to take my special needs to all his therapy and school. The staff recommended that they just pay for a city bus pass. Well that will be great for a typical person but for a single mom of special needs kids who have about 20 therapy a week that’s literally impossible to rely on city transportation services. Only if this department was knowledgeable on special needs I’m pretty sure I would be able to get the help. Just a reminder to special needs parents this location doesn’t help.
If you are looking for a church that isn't crazy conservative, this is a great place for you. Super welcoming and serves the community. And the music is absolutely fabulous.
I attended this church while visiting with my brother. The sermon was sound gospel, applicable to our daily lives, and full of love and compassion for the community. It is a place for all people to feel loved and accepted. I truly felt the presence of Holy Spirit.
