What Parents Say
Reviews are mixed and largely reflect experiences at the church rather than the learning center specifically. Two parents reported serious concerns about daycare operations under current leadership, citing disorganization and lack of qualified management, while other reviewers praised the church's family environment and friendly atmosphere.
I grew up in this church. I have since moved away and a series of unfortunate events have unfolded within my family over the years that kept us from being involved in the church as we were when I was younger. (Not making excuses, I’m just setting the stage.) However we still have family friends that attend this church. Very recently, my mother died and I was desperate for guidance and I was also trying to figure out where to have her funeral. We decided to meet with Brother Kirby about these matters. I don’t want to rehash the entire interaction but I do feel compelled to say something about this for any lost souls out there looking for guidance from the lord and thinking you may find it here. Mr. Kirby was very cold and unmoved by my situation. He seemed very judgmental of me. It was pretty clear that he didn’t want anything to do with me. I was asking him questions and he told me I should google it. Ultimately I ran out of his office crying due to his lack of empathy. Maybe he was having a bad day, maybe he has never met someone who has lost a loved one. Regardless, a preacher is held to a higher standard and I feel I need to speak up so that maybe I can prevent someone from having the same experience as myself. I cannot see how a man like this could be the leader of a congregation. Maybe he preaches the gospel very well. But in this private interaction I had with him, I did not feel that he was any closer to Jesus than me. Maybe Mr. Kirby should google where to find Him.
What a complete nightmare this church “Learning Center” was for me and my family. We enrolled our child because of the good reputation it had in town without knowing that leadership changed hands at the same time as us starting. It is now being ran by the new director, Patricia Keaney and the church “Board of Directors”, Patricia Williams - neither of which have any business working with children. From day one it was unorganized chaos every time we entered the building. No one is there in the front when you drop off/pick up so you have to hunt down where to bring your child or where they are at the end of the day. Patricia Keaney runs around frantic, completely unaware of what’s going on around her. She lacks the personal skills, compassion, communication, integrity, and above all - KNOWLEDGE - needed to be in charge of children. Please don’t make the same mistake we did in believing this daycare is what it was in the past. Our child is now at a new facility and THRIVING. A complete day and night difference. These people are just there to profit at the expense of our children, unfortunately. I hope for the sake of the children that are still there that they get rid of the incompetent and unstable director, Patricia Keaney, and find someone with the experience needed to turn it around - which seems like an impossible feat considering the state it’s in currently.
I am wanting to join this church and get baptized, I have been here along time ago I love the family environment and the love you can feel coming from the hearts of Jesus Christ children. I would love to see some one and get baptized soon. God Bless
