First Steps Childcare & Learning Center

Two years ago I moved here and had to find childcare for my then 4 year old and 2 year old. I was very worried about them going to a new daycare in a new area due to them being use to a in home childcare. I will say my children enjoyed their Teachers and their Teachers were always loving and caring. Which made it easy for me to work and not be stressed out about who’s watching my children. I now only have one child in attendance and the love for the center hasn’t changed. I’m glad I was able to find somewhere safe for my babies while I work. Thank you First Steps for loving my babies.

"First Step Child Care center" has been an amazing experience for our daughter! The staff and teachers is so caring about her allergies and attentive, they keep you updated about your child needs making sure every child feels supported and safe . They have private Instagram page they share with parents child best moments so we absolutely loved her time here . Our daughter LIANA loves going each day and has learned so much. The balance between education and play is perfect, and we’ve seen great growth in her social and academic learning skills. The communication is excellent, and we always feel in the loop about her progress. Highly recommend this daycare and pre-K for any family! I toured this daycare today, and I was completely shocked by the experience. As I was leaving, the director stopped me to ask if I had any "concerns" about my child—then proceeded to suggest that my daughter might be on the autism spectrum because she is currently in speech therapy. She even stated, "We don’t care for kids like that here," which was incredibly inappropriate and discriminatory. For context, my child is in speech therapy, but I have never been told she’s on the spectrum by any medical professional. The director claimed she "could see it" based on her experience working with children, which felt extremely unprofessional and offensive. Even if my child were on the spectrum, no daycare should treat families this way. This type of comment was not only out of line but also shows a serious lack of sensitivity and training when it comes to working with children and parents. If you’re considering this daycare, please be cautious. This interaction made me extremely uncomfortable, and I would not recommend this center to any parent.

We were in a huge pinch when we had to use their services. We loved our first teacher because she cared and wanted the best for our child and she also spoke up about things going wrong at the daycare. She left because she couldn’t deal with the mismanagement of the teachers. Then we were moved to a new class because of our child’s age. The teacher there shouldn’t have even been around kids. She said she had 4 of her own but she was offal. We’d come to get our child and she be asleep, on her phone, or be listening to music. We spoke up about it and her attitude got worse we feared for our child’s care after that. Luckily we left. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. ***We were there from 2021-2023. We did bring our issue up to management and they told the teacher not to use headphones but that didn’t change her attitude at work and she knew we were there ones who made the complaint. Your manager also didn’t know state codes and tried telling me that my child wasn’t allowed to have OTC diaper cream on without a doctor’s prescription. So, this is a valid review and still wouldn’t recommend anyone put the well being of their child here.

I cannot speak highly enough of First Steps Child Care! From the moment we enrolled my daughter almost four years ago, we knew our child was in the best hands possible. We have since enrolled a second child, and have a third on the wait list. The staff is incredibly caring, attentive, and professional. They create a nurturing environment where children thrive. The facilities are top-notch, with clean and spacious rooms filled with engaging toys and activities. It's evident that safety is a priority here, which provides peace of mind for parents like me. Communication is excellent; we receive daily updates about our child's activities, meals, and developmental milestones. The staff genuinely cares about each child's well-being and development, and it shows in every interaction. The curriculum is well-rounded and designed to stimulate creativity, curiosity, and learning. Our child comes home happy and excited to share what they've learned each day. I wholeheartedly recommend First Steps Child Care to any parent looking for a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for their child. They truly go above and beyond, and we couldn't be happier with our experience!
