What Parents Say
Parents praise First Presbyterian as a beautiful, welcoming church community with excellent programming. While most reviews focus on the church itself rather than the daycare program specifically, one parent mentions their son attends the First Presbyterian School and describes it as amazing and well-supported by the church community.
During the worst 2 weeks of my life, the pastor and staff of First Presbyterian Church of Oklahoma City did their best to share my grief and help lighten my family's load of sadness. If you are looking for a church family, this should be your first and last stop. The school programs for children are wonderful and the staff in every area of the church are kind and considerate. Add to that the chapel and the main church are BEUTIFUL and a wonderful place to worship. Choir is good and the Wednesday services are wonderful and peaceful. I am very grateful for this church and enjoy the services when I am in Oklahoma City.
Beautiful church and a beautiful mothers day service. The mezzo soprano and violinist were excellent musicians. Our first time to visit and we were greeted warmly but not pushy. Will definitely visit again when we are in OKC
We have been attending for six months and we feel so at home. What a great community to be a part of. Pastor John is the most genuine, kind-hearted, humble pastor, and the community welcomes guests with open arms.
As a fellow Christian and photographer, I am absolutely appalled at the way myself and my clients were treated. The “security staff” yelled at us and told us “You need to leave. I have people here. There’s no parking for you.” We were not parked in the church parking lot, and there was not anyone outside of the building who would be photographed. As we were leaving, we stopped to get a couple quick pictures. We were not on the property for more than 2 minutes. This woman continued to yell at us and told us we needed to return another time. When asked when would be a good time to come back, she kept making excuses that there were constantly things on-site. Nothing she said made sense, and she was INCREDIBLY RUDE. I would definitely rethink your “security”, staff, and policies (if this women’s behaviors and request align with them). A silly policy, but if no photography on site is a policy - why not consider signs around the outside of the building that state exactly that? Maybe on your Facebook and website too? Marketing is important. Being rude and kicking people out of church definitely isn’t what Jesus would do. Church hurt is real, and this isn’t a way to bring people to Jesus. I’m looking for a church in the OKC area, and my interactions today confirmed I will not be visiting or making this church my home church.
It was a nice place. Pretty with the architecture. That is the only reason I gave it 3 🌟. Because it was a good place to have a concert the US Navy to put on, acoustics were cool! I would give the church more stars depending on how the church lives by the Word of God. I am sure the star count could be higher. Perhaps that may happen. This issue takes more priority than the treatment of a church as a concert hall of course. Just beware of dead churches.
