This church has welcoming people and a beautiful building; they seek to do a lot of good in their community & truly engage people where they are. They love Jesus and do exalt His word. However. They ordain women & have them preach- showing a light regard for God’s Word. They also do not really go very deep in terms of preaching or teaching. They lean towards “climate justice” and “social justice” instead of using Biblical language to talk about current things in the same way the Bible does (ie exercising dominion over Creation … seeking impartial justice, not equity).
First off this is one of the most beautiful church sanctuaries I have been in. Service was thoughtfully laid out. They offer a traditional and contemporary service. Right in the heart of downtown Greenville.
The service for healing prayer service was amazing. The people that were there are so loving and I felt they genuinely wanted to pray for me. The peace in that place was awesome. I was also impressed that they do follow scripture Concerning how they let you come before the elders of the church and annoint you with oil and pray for your healing. This is the only church I have seen in Greenville that does this. I respect that a lot and definitely will be back.
I spent the first 18 years of my life at this church; wonderful church full of loving people who care for one another well. Local and international missions are generously supported, and the Music & Arts program is unparalleled in Greenville.
A wonderful place with a beautiful sanctuary, inspiring staff and a congregation that really cares about each other. Lots of free parking on the church campus and the surrounding area (free after 6 weekdays, Sat and Sun). This is a wonderful place to grow your spiritual life.
