First Impressions Nursery School-Bedford Branch

My son went here for about a month. I wanted to give it some time to have him adjust and waited a couple months before writing this review to make sure I wasn’t too emotional. The owners seem very nice, but the employees no. The classroom had about 6-8 children, all of whom were a bit older than my son because they had to get rid of an age group classroom due to less children I was told. Many of the kids were already 4 going on 5 my son was 3.5. Teacher couldn’t get my son to engage in tracing the alphabet (go figure that’s boring and he’s 3) so she would let him sit in the back by himself. So not only was he going there to be alone but she also kept mentioning the noises he would make. So now he's sitting by himself all day and she still has a problem. On the first day she told me my son bit her and pulled up her sleeve to show me literally nothing - my son has gotten angry and had meltdowns before but has never, ever bitten anyone ever. So that leads me to question what was she doing to him for him to do something so out of character. For there to only be 6 kids in the class and you not able to engage a child aside from just citing the alphabet, counting to 10, and simple tracing on plain paper is sad for preschool. It’s supposed to be arts and crafts, nursery rhymes, games etc.. but not here. Meanwhile the toddler room doesn’t seem to teach anything at all it’s just all play time so how they expect them to make that jump I’m not sure. This is more of a 1st-2nd grade setting for 3-4 year olds. If your kid is very advanced then it might work out for you, otherwise it won’t be enjoyable for your kid. Better to find somewhere more playful and less military.

We love the teachers at First Impressions. They always keep us in the loop with whats going on and send us pictures. My son comes home with arts and crafts almost everyday. They keep him busy all day. FI is very structured, clean, and safe. :)

I'm a new enrollment with this school and I couldn't love it more!I'm so happy we made the choice to send him here. My son is loved and cared for, his teachers reach out even on his days off. He immediately runs through the door to them when I drop him off in the morning. I cannot reccommend this place enough if you live or work in the South Philly area.

The owner refused to give me my correct tax credit information. After asking several times, she started screaming and threatened to call the cops so I needed to goto the bank. I just needed to know how much I paid her for the year. After speaking with several friends, they all had the same problem with her. Be sure to keep track of what you pay them for tax purposes because they will NOT give you the correct amount for your deduction and NEVER PAY THEM WITH CASH!

Best daycare in the city- wouldn’t trust my kids to be anywhere else but here
