What Parents Say

This is a religious facility, not a daycare center. Most reviews praise the church's friendly atmosphere, pastor, and family programs. However, one detailed review criticizes the church's signage and messaging as unwelcoming, negative, and promoting divisive ideologies rather than inclusion and acceptance.

I've been passing this church and its signage for well over a year on the way to and from work unavoidably, and especially compared with the humility/welcoming messaging on the neighboring church's boards surrounding it, I have officially found myself disappointed in depth with this church after going on a year and a half of trying to give it a fair enough chance. Starting from the outside, the messages on its street-facing board, regardless of direction faced, more often than not has messages not of encouragement, but of snark, negativity, and stern gratitude, which initially turned me off from the start, but I wanted to not judge a book too hard by its cover before experiencing inside. After this much time and variation in signage has passed, I am discourage to report that 9 times out of 10, what should be drawing people in has messages filled with falsehoods, factually incorrect information, personal opinion, biblically unsound political leanings, and overall a very "If you don't even come close to thinking like me, you can leave/this is what it is" tone rather than a place of genuine engagement, exploration, beneficial and group-wide understanding with the text at its core. Despite my hesitations and genuine distaste at virtually every sign I've been exposed to on my drives, I still wanted to give this church a chance. So, I went to its livestreams since I did not feel comfortable nor welcome coming inside in person, and I was unfortunately greeted with much of the same as suspected. I have been silently watching various streams across the year trying to find morsels, but unfortunately found the teachings to be much of what I suspected from the signage--primarily personal opinion seemingly based with the text, but ultimately purporting harmful ideals that (since opinions are being given anyway) in MY opinion, do not promote the love, forgiveness, and acceptance of the Lord that I have come to learn. I know some friends who attend this church and was curious myself about coming with them, but now cannot fathom how they--some of which are of various groups I have heard and seen denounced within this facility--do not feel the same outcastness. Despite its harshness, I genuinely write this review with a hope and compulsion that those leading this congregation will take a step back to not just "do the 9 to 5" of running a church, but ACTUALLY revisit the text, unbiased, and see what light can be poured out into the world instead of messages that, to a complete stranger passing by and had no reason to write this otherwise, has only received darkness. There was a recent billboard that has almost certainly been changed by now that legitimately made me upset enough to even consider drafting this. Please, I implore you--exude more love, openness, and acceptance that DO exist in the text, and PLEASE give more thought to the words you put on the sign outside. I know it's laborious, I know it's annoying--but words matter, and your words have driven away someone currently seeking the comforts of God's house. Thoughts and prayers.
