However, most reviews reflect general church experiences rather than specific daycare program feedback.
This is one of the very best churches I have ever seen. The ppl are sincere, friendly and welcoming. The sermon and singing are excellent, directly from the Word of God and uplifting. I would gladly bring my family here to worship and fellowship.
It's a pretty nice church, a little dingy, but overall everyone is nice. The youth room is pretty big, even though there's not much to do except play video games. The main church is pretty nice, but the seat material is uncomfortable.
Beautiful church with a lot of potential to serve a needing community. But if you're looking for love and grace in a church... go elsewhere!!! The male leaders of the church are chauvinistic, bigots and have egos which keep them from being humble servants to a church and community which they are responsible for. If they honestly taught the word of Jesus they would demonstrate love, grace and compassion, treating the staff and members of the congregation and others who serve with the grace and love of Jesus. Instead they are just the opposite, for example spreading lies about former staff members. I wonder if they deserve be in their position of service, do they even know what that is and the trusted board members need to hold themselves accountable or bring in true leaders who teaches the word of Jesus filled with Love and Grace.
I and my husband are overwhelmed and in awe of the goodwill, kindness and servant's hearts that fill the hidden gem that is First Baptist of Alvord. I see an entire network of people working together -- giving tirelessly of their time, their love -- to feed the hungry, sick and poor, and support every single person that comes to God's house in word, deed or with prayer when nothing else will do. We moved here to Wise County at God's direction, far away from our loved ones -- parents, children, and friends. Many, many smiles and greetings greet us with a warm familiarity that reminds us that although we may not know their names or situations, they are our true family, brothers and sisters in Christ. Scott and I have been struggling with many heavy burdens -- but silently. But Jesus' eyes saw us, and tears coursed down my face when I saw that someone asked the church body to pray for us this week. We still do not know what we need, or what we are supposed to be doing here, yet we are reassured that our God will supply for all our needs.
Revival this week through Wednesday night. Starts at 6:30 pm come and join us for great country music and country preaching.
