If you're looking for a church, this is a great place to worship and fellowship. My only concern or negative is how loud the service is. It would be better if they could turn down the volume a notch especially the main mic that is used. I was here during their anniversary and I couldn't understand some words the guest pastor spoke because it was so loud. I've actually have been here every Sunday for over a month or so now and I immensely enjoy attending but it is somewhat of a hearing hazard for those attending the service especially the younger ears that need their hearing through their life. I wish the sound/media ministry could adjust the sound some. Other then that, you will definitely hear the Word here.
First Baptist church Denbigh is a great place to worship. I’ve been a member for years now and I love everything about my house of Zion. We are not a perfect church however, we are god fearing Christian’s who know his words, teach his words, and try to live by them each day. It’s large, well lighted, excellent sound system, great choir and an interim Pastor that will bring you out of your seat, right to your feet with his unique style of delivering the word. It’s hallelujah time at first baptist and for all who love the lord, have kids who you would like to learn the word in a loving, warm, upscaled environment then this is the house of Zion for you. I’m not sorry for posting this but this is the God’s honest truth. I registered my daughter to this school and was very excited. The 1st day went well. As the days went on, my daughter showing signs of distress and crying begging me not to take her back. When I would ask her what was wrong she would tell me the teacher will tell her to put her finger to her mouth and put her head down, plus not using her toilet wipes to prevent her from having an infection. I went up to the school calmly asking the office why they would discipline a 4 year old like that and not inform me. And I instructed them for her to use her wipes. I wanted a refund because she was unhappy and I needed to do what was best for her. They showed know signs of sympathy towards my daughter and boldly responded back with no refunds unless the child spent 4 weeks in the school (school’s policy), BTW she only attended for 3 days. I’m so ashamed of that church. They are just greedy and selfish. They only care about the money. If you were wondering if this was her 1st time attending school, it’s not. With me working full-time and attending school full-time (living in Newport News)I had to pull her out of her pre-k school in Norfolk and I wish she was still going there because she loved it. They should be ashamed of themselves.
Please read Tiff_Original's review if you are planning to enroll your child into the Child Development Center's program. My daughter also had an unfortunate experience as well. My problem was not with the structure of the program but the harshness of the teacher my daughter had. Please take caution before enrolling your children into the Child Development Center's program.
I was down and out going through a lot came to the church for help.
