We tried to love this church but couldn't. A few folks did their best to make us feel welcome but overall the church overwhelmed those impression. Our first Sunday to attend an elder approached my husband and I asking us questions wanting to know where we came from any previous religion affiliation and what kind of jobs we did. All of it felt off and like an interview for a job and nothing like we have ever experienced when we have moved in the past. I was never taught I needed to interview to attend church. Given the ethnic makeup and size of McGehee we were surprised to see such an undiverse congregation.
