Beautiful church. Singing traditional hymns from a hymnal instead of a jumbotron felt great. Unfortunately, the senior preacher tends to ruin the experience with his subtle-but-evident woke ideology. For example, instead of focusing on the importance of the Resurrection of Christ on Easter Sunday, he started his sermon by singing a line from an American slave song 'keep your hand on the plow', told a story of a farmer that knew it wasn't going to rain despite the lightning and thunder, told the story of a preacher's wife's unshaken faith despite losing a toddler in a tornado (I think she might actually have been in shock), and then sang the line from the slave song again, for added effect. The anecdotes were disjointed, and unrelated to Easter. But... it sure did fill us with hope and perseverance in these difficult times. I was surprised when he didn't ask for a 'Hands Off' amen. This church needs to find a new senior preacher that understands the assignment.
We joined 4 years ago. It is a grace-fillled church that teaches love of God and love for neighbor. People are caring and kind. There are many ways to get involved with service, fellowship and worship.
Thank you First Baptist for your Sunday morning worship service. What a blessing to sit in my lift chair with my spouse of 56 years and sing and study God’s word each Sunday. I am sad I cannot attend “The Living Christmas Tree” which I always attended in past years. Thank you FBC choir for you lovely voices in praise to our Savior, Jesus Christ. I watch every Sunday in the glow of the Children’s time which is so strong in teaching children because I accepted Christ at age six and so very thankful to my teachers who helped me to grow in my Christian walk. You have so many ministries to reach our community in different venues for worship. Wow, I feel a part of your church. Yes, this is the famous 'egg beater Jesus ' church. The parking lot and inside facilities are very nice, well decorated, with updated finishings. The building is huge with several entrances, and everything is well organized with good signage. The staff seemed friendly, and everything inside was clean, and easy to navigate. Would visit again.
Greatly enjoyed and was inspired by today's speaker. Truly sensed his love for the Lord and others. Please have him speak again. I so wish I could attend church there and attend his 60+class!
