First and foremost, I’ve been with this daycare since they were smaller and known as A First Adventures Daycare and Preschool. Back in August of 2021, after touring multiple daycares, I decided to come tour this one. At the time, my daughter was about 1.5 years old and had major separation anxiety after being home for that entire time. During our tour, my daughter immediately reached out for Zahia (the director at the time, now the owner) and let her hold her for the entire visit. I took that as a sign from God, and I’m so happy I did. Fast forward five years, and we are still with them! My daughter graduated preschool in 2024, and since then my baby boy has joined as well. The love they have for my children is more than a mother could ask for. They have truly become family to us. The teachers are always so kind and supportive, and they really prepared my daughter for when she started public school. If you’re looking for a place that genuinely cares, communicates well, and stays involved in your child’s growth, I highly encourage you to schedule a tour. We love Yaya’s Family!

Firstly, I agree with the review made by Jonathan Snodgrass. Few weeks after I enrolled (enrolled Sept. 2025) my son here, he contacted Covid-19 and adenovirus, he was just 4 months old, he was terribly sick and had fever for days. I was terrified and took time off work and stayed at home to care for him till he was well. NB There was covid exposure at the daycare and a teacher in his room tested + for covid. Secondly, I suspected that they were not changing my son’s diaper on time. Upon pick up, his changed cloth (onesie) had poop all over on the inside, extending to the back. This indicates that he must have been crawling and playing in his poop for a while for it to have smeared all over his clothes even to the back. This has never happened with him at home even when he has a blowout because I change his diaper on time. I made my concerns known to his teacher. They also seem disorganized, they have once worn another baby’s diaper for my son which I brought to their attention that they cannot be mixing up the children’s diapers and belongings. The final straw was when there was an injury/open sore on my son’s bum which required medical attention. I can’t attach photos. I took him to the daycare in the morning, there was no rash on his bum. Vaseline is applied on his bum at every diaper change and I change his diaper promptly, so my son hardly ever has diaper rash even when he poops 2-3 times in a day. After work, I went to pick him up, they only told me he pooped 3 times, had a blowout and they changed his clothes. The did not send photos nor inform me of what had happened to his bum. So, when I removed his diaper to change him at home, it was a shock to see a severe diaper rash on his bum, his skin had peeled and bled as a result all within 8 hours of him being in their care. This only confirmed my suspicion of them not changing his diaper on time, according to the logs in the app, they change his diaper after 2 -3 hours, which means if my son had pooped or peed within an hour, he gets changed 1-2 hours after. At times, my son poops within 10 minutes after diaper change, I will change his diaper again. The longer a child stays in poop or pee, the more harm it does to their bum because poop and pee is slightly acidic and can cause skin burns and irritation. They ought to check their diaper at regular intervals within an hour and change immediately if soiled. They say they sometimes don’t log in real time, I don’t believe them. Later that evening when I bathe my son, he couldn’t sit in his tub, he was in pain and cried all through especially when water touched his bum. I was really hurt about the situation, I took him to the daycare in the morning, I was in tears asking for an explanation from the director but they were not accountable, she just said it was rash. He didn’t have rash when I brought him in the morning but all of a sudden, he had a rash leading to his skin peeling/bleeding, all within 8 hours in their care. If a child has a rash, it will take a great level of mismanagement to get to the stage of skin peel/bleed. I asked them who was changing his diapers, that someone else should do it. I took him there the day after because I needed to be at work while I was in search of another daycare. I met the owner of the daycare and she said she wouldn’t let my son in because I raised my voice at her director. She never cared about my son nor asked how he was feeling nor addressed the situation. She only cared that I raised my voice. (I don’t excuse that but which mother is okay seeing their child in pain that could have been avoided if they were thorough at the daycare). Then, she walked out on me while I was still talking to her, I went to her and asked for a refund for the time left in Jan. 2026 and told her that was disrespectful, that she just did exactly what she was accusing me of. She told me to leave the premises or she would call the police on me. Yaya’s family, thank you for showing me clearly that you never cared about a child that was in your care for 4 months. I do NOT recommend this daycare.

Our experience with Yaya’s Family was truly one of the most special parts of Abdullah’s early childhood. We watched him grow in his communication, play, and social skills in such a warm and caring environment. He would come home at the end of the week with his colorful drawings and fun activity papers—always so proud to show what he worked on. The entire team felt like a second family to us. Their love, patience, and kindness meant the world. We already miss them so much and will forever be grateful for the beautiful memories they helped create 💛💛💛💛

My oldest son has been going there for 3.5 years and he loves it. He comes home everyday and tells me what he did and would tell me how much he likes his teachers. My youngest who is 1.5 also attends and he leaves with smiles. First adventures is very attentive and informs you of everything that goes on. My schedule can be a bit crazy at times and they are always willing to work me. I will not take my kids anywhere else. First adventures Is like family.
