What Parents Say
First Adventure Learning Center receives mixed reviews with strong praise from most parents citing caring staff, good educational preparation, and flexible hours, but serious concerns raised by a minority regarding infant feeding protocols, supervision, safety incidents, and staff-to-child ratios.
Our girls attended First Adventure on Benson Road. There were several things we loved, including little to no staff turnover, and the fact that the teachers and staff loved on and treated our girls like they were their own. We also loved that there was a definite chain of command and the owners are present, involved, and amazing to work with. They care about your kids and their staff. Our girls were beyond ready for kindergarten because of the great preschool teachers. I never hesitate to recommend them!!
Our daughter started at First Adventure when she was 11 months old (Oct 2013). We had her in an in-home daycare but we decided to make the switch to a center because we were frustrated with the limited hours that were NOT very flexible and seemingly endless days that we needed to find alternative care for our daughter. We felt pretty guilty about switching her care provider but we were frustrated with the current situation and needed to do something. The feelings of guilt didn’t last because the first day we brought her in we felt so welcome. Her teacher greeted us when we walked in the door. She was excited to meet our daughter and explain things to us - how her day was going to go, etc. She asked questions and got additional information on our daughter and was totally prepared and confident in caring for her. We felt at ease walking out after that first day - we knew we had made the right decision. Our daughter went to First Adventure until just before she started Kindergarten in the August of 2018. We had such a great experience with First Adventure. Her days were filled with fun and education. I never worried about whether or not she was getting good food and good care. If I ever had any issues staff would quickly address and I felt like they really cared about us. The last couple of years we were there we were lucky enough utilize the Bright Wheel app. This app is so great! I really missed it when I brought her to Kindergarten. This app would give us information on what she ate, what she was doing and other notes and reminders. Great app and an extra bonus for sure. It was another little thing to help keep your mind at ease. Knowing she was doing fun things and having a good day was great. Sending your child to daycare is truly an investment. I strongly feel that because our daughter got such a great start at First Adventure it is the reason she is doing so well in school.
My LO has been going to the South location at First Adventure since he was 3 months old. He is 6 months old now and I have never had any problems! The younger infant teachers take care of him as if he were their own, he absolutely adores them. They have exceeded all of my expectations and are very open about anything they have questions or concerns about. I am not the most laid back mom, I have very strong personal values when it comes to what I want and don't want my child to do and they have worked with me to meet all of my requests. We are very happy with this center and highly recommend them to anyone.
Both of our kids have attended First Adventure since they were infants, and I can't imagine sending them anywhere else. The teachers are so invested in helping the kids grow and learn new things every day, and our kids are always excited to get to daycare in the morning because they enjoy their time there so much. The staff is friendly and easy to talk to, which makes things easier for the parents too!
My child attended the South location. She was only fed every 3.5 to 5 hours and I had told them numerous times she needs to bed every 2-3 hours as she is a newborn. When I brought up concerns nothing ever changed and the Director dismissed my concerns. They would mark that they fed her 3oz but then give me 1.5 oz from the same bag still in the fridge. My child would come home starving and extremely upset. We finally removed her due to safety concerns as she was being neglected. The Director met with me upon removal and said that they "were just not able to meet my feeding every 2-3 hour feeding expectations." My infant was there only three weeks and every week we had an issue. We started her at a new daycare and it has been night and day in the differences with the daycare and my infant. I would use extreme caution if considering this child care center. I write this review only to ensure this doesn't happen to other babies and not to be hateful. Check YELP for more accurate reviews from individuals that are not the owner or staff of the facility.
