What Parents Say
This facility is a residential shelter and recovery program (Lafayette House), not a traditional daycare. The vast majority of reviews (8/10) are highly positive, with residents crediting the staff with life-saving support for substance abuse recovery and domestic violence situations. However, one detailed negative review raises serious concerns about staff conduct, lack of programming, consent violations during searches, and wrongful evictions.
This place needs to be shutdown! It's appealing to the eye, however, they have no activities or groups at all! They sit at their desk and talk about everyone. They aren't domestic abuse advocates at all! They are condescending, belittling, and choose to attempt to humiliate you. The only thing that they did was do room searches several times a day. And when gone to appointments or eating they search without consent and remove items. They love to kick out several women for ridiculous and false accusations. This area is a very dangerous area for drugs and human trafficking and have kicked out many with no place to go and they don't care. Case management gives resources for you to call. Took two weeks to see one. And when you leave most of your stuff will not be located. We've been through enough trauma to let this poor excuse for safe haven. Should be a place of healing and empowerment! Not a place treating us like criminals! DO NOT choose this place they're in it for the money and have several complaints and have been reported. They should be shut down. They also stole my mail. Abusive and unprofessional. A completely disgusting attitude towards survivors.
Facility is Out of ADA law compliance!!! They were a little helpful. But after I asked to go to the hospital because I was having suicidal ideations; without anybody telling me to and without having any behaviors. (Which I'm on disability for a mental health disability as well). When I returned they denied me for the DV program even still in danger, and their SUD program too. They told me even if I went out and was using Id still not qualify. Definitely not in compliance with ADA law. I did not harm myself and had great insight and checked myself into a mental health facility and had no behaviors there except doing other ppls chores when midnight passed so the staff wouldn't have to.
This place saved my life. Seriously the staff are wonderful compassionate caring people and go above and beyond to help clients who are seeking recovery and are serious about it! I absolutely recommend the Lafayette House to women seeking shelter for substance abuse and safety from domestic violence, children are welcome too. They offer so many services. I only wish I had had the courage to check in sooner. Thank you Lafayette house for everything!
Speaking to someone she said I didn't qualify and I said. Okay if I'm killed. Know you were the last person I spoke. And she hung up in my face. Shout out to baby girl
I love ALL the amazing staff members!! They are so full of love and encouraging!! They help you with your immediate needs and goals and help you obtain long term goals. They build up the broken and restore hope in the hopeless.. they give you courage to be courageous.. something money can't buy but you can keep forever... Thanks a ton!!! The kitchen staff is awesome especially on the weekends.. she really goes out of her way to make sure we are full and eat well and makes us laugh when we wanna cry!!! I recommend this facility to anyone seeking safe, clean and loving shelter..
