Family Life Academy

As a Christian, I encountered character of “leaders” that was deeply concerning. In my opinion, my children were treated unfairly, and my concerns were not taken seriously. When I met with staff, I was told that my understanding of events was “inaccurate” and “untrue.” I disagree with that assessment. From what I’ve gathered, my daughter — (a straight-A student who consistently avoids trouble) — was subjected to repeated mistreatment and humiliation. She was questioned by staff until she vomited - and at other times she was blamed or disciplined for situations that, in my view, were caused by another student who is related to staff members. In my opinion, there appears to be a pattern of favoritism toward certain students connected to staff. My daughter reported being bullied and targeted by one such student without appropriate correction or intervention. She and another student also told me that they were advised by a staff member “not to run home and tell their parents,” which I found deeply concerning. Ultimately, my children were expelled after I questioned another student about an incident — which the school said violated a rule. To me, this felt like a technicality used to avoid addressing the underlying issues I raised. I would not recommend the school, (connected to this church- ran by some of the pastors of this church) based on my personal experience and what I was told by my children and another student. By the way, they removed the school listing so that you cannot read any of the other negative reviews and they also disabled reviews on their Facebook page to cover everything up.

This church has been an answer to prayers! Our family moved to Gainesville last August, from North Carolina and was welcomed with open arms. For parents with children with “special needs”, you are always slightly hesitant introducing your child into a new environment with new people. I’m so grateful that they did not allow my hesitation to stop them from loving on all of our children and my husband and I! Our family has fallen in love with the people here at Family Life Church! The people have such a heart for God and a heart for the people in their community! For thanksgiving, the church was able to bless families with a Thanksgiving Dinner. For Christmas, the church was able to bless several families as well. It brings my heart joy to see the church we call home, making an impact in the community. When walking into the building you feel the love and genuine joy that everyone has! The atmosphere is set with an expectation that God is going to move in some way or form. My husband and I love serving on the worship and media team, and our daughter has started to serve with the Children’s ministry. Pastor Glen and Pastor Mandie do not take their calling lightly. Pastor Glen preaches from the Word of God and in a manner so that we can apply it to our daily lives throughout the week. Pastor Mandie is a prayer warrior, and without hesitation will intercede on your behalf. They are both Kingdom minded and are leading this congregation to do the work of the Kingdom in our everyday lives. We are truly blessed to be a part of Family Life Church and we are excited to see what God has in store for the years to come!

This was my family’s first visit to this church service. Me and my entire family enjoyed the praise and worship music . We also felt very welcomed and comfortable at Family life church and definitely plan on attending services on Sunday’s again. Thank you Pastor Glen and your church family for your warm hospitality.

Wonderful, welcoming, loving church! Pastor Glen and his wife Mandie, as well as members are amazing and a blessing! I'm so thankful for them and that God led me right into a church that is so welcoming and truly care!
