Fairwood Umc Child Care Center

This daycare started off "ok" it is on the cheaper side which was a plus but we were told they would be having rate increases soon we were advised of this in September 2023. You provide your Childs lunch daily. This daycare at least in time we were there took random days off one for water issues during our time which ok it happens we get that but then other things the church shuts down for. During our time at the center they randomly decided to paint the building and shut down for that a few days during the week. Also extended holiday schedules here. So if your a family that doesnt have help or money to pay 2 different daycares/sitter at one time you might want to take that into consideration. I understand that daycares all have early release days but be prepared for a quite a few of those as well here. Not saying they are wrong for it but see the schedule for yourself on that one. some it works for others it doesn't, depends on your support outside of the daycare. They will provide that information though as far as national holidays. They will send your child home if your child even a 2yo is playful and hiding under a toddler slide wanting you to come up to them like in a sense of playing hide and seek in a fenced in playground when the teacher is ready to go in or if your child is on their (rainbow line up rope and then goes back to play like leaving the rope and not directly coming to the line again when told this is enough to have you called EVERY DAY to pick your child up even when you are paying for care all in this time) a good cop out in a way to get paid without doing the work they get paid for if you ask me. Out of other good even highly rated safe daycares we spoke to this is more of a supervision issue than it is a "safety issue" as they (Fairwood) likes to claim. Many that we spoke to thought that was a crazy thing do for that age like sending home each time. Older kids such as 4Yo to 5yo other daycares stated they understood if a child didnt come when instructed but being 2Yo we were told that's what many kids do. However the Director does have a family member that is a child that attends the daycare that has physically pushed our oldest child down just walking in the little gate door to the room they have for what was their morning area. Also has ran and attempted to pushed our little one that was 2yo in the class. Has similar behavior to other kids that was seen in morning drop off. Be prepared to have a lot of that slide besides the other staff telling the child things like "no no we dont do that, thats not nice to do to our friends" but other than that nothing is really done like write up, being sent home etc. We mentioned to the care taker in the room we didnt really like that and was told "well I know but you know who they belong to". All in all the bullying behavior was seen by the child. Cant say they sent them home most days because the child was there at drop off and pick up. Also last but not least always be sure to have a paper trail on payments get your receipts keep them for the period that you pay every wk, 2wks etc.
