Extended Day Child Care - Dublin Elementary

We have 3 kids in EDCC and cannot begin to describe how important EDCC has been to our family. There are the obvious benefits of the 7A-6P schedule, the location on campus, the seamless transitions between school, DPIE classes, and EDCC, and the program's commitment to remaining open on days when childcare proves extra difficult (eg school holidays that are not federal holidays). But more than the schedule, EDCC has been such a loving and supportive program for our kids. All of the EDCC staff are friendly, skilled, and reliable. Our kids really enjoy the active time, art projects, homework help, seasonal performances, summer camp, etc. And we, as parents, appreciate that the staff create a fun but respectful learning/play environment. They go above and beyond to make each morning/afternoon a fun and safe experience for our kids. The structure of the program (with kids of all grades interacting with each other) functions similar to Montessori in that our kids have made so many friends across all grades through EDCC and they really value that community. And lastly, the program is very well-organized and thoughtful. Trina, the Amador EDCC director, is worth her weight in gold. Her attention to detail, communication style, and love for the kids is impressive and much appreciated. And the same can be said about the other staff, which is a testament to Trina's leadership/vision for the program. For two working parents with early start times, EDCC has been such a life saver. And most importantly, our kids love it!

Dublin El EDCC has been the perfect fit for our family! As working parents, we truly appreciate the generous operating hours, which give us the flexibility we need. We especially value that they remain open when school is closed for teacher in-service days, and even offer care on select days during extended spring and winter breaks. The entire program has continually impressed us—from the caring teachers, who genuinely look out for our children, to the structured days that perfectly balance playtime, engaging enrichment activities, and age-appropriate academics. Our boys always look forward to their time at EDCC and come home happy each day. We feel well-informed, thanks to the teachers’ frequent informal updates and the administration’s regular, thorough communication. If there’s ever a concern—whether it’s a minor injury or a child not feeling well—the staff reaches out right away, which we really appreciate. They also handle the occasional conflict between students with care and professionalism. We wholeheartedly recommend EDCC to other families. It’s a warm, supportive environment that goes above and beyond anything we’ve experienced elsewhere. We’re grateful to be part of this wonderful community!

EDCC has been an absolute lifesaver for us. As working parents without family nearby, the program gives us peace of mind knowing our son is safe, supported, and genuinely happy there. The onsite convenience, extended hours, and care on school closure/early release days provide the reliability we depend on. We were drawn to EDCC for its blended curriculum, and while our son has learned so much through the program, it's the exceptional staff who set it apart. They are warm, empathetic, and attuned to children's development, partnering closely with parents to support social and emotional growth. I appreciate the open communication they've established with me and I feel confident with their care. Our son loves being at EDCC and sometimes feels disappointed when we pick him up early. Our family is incredibly grateful to have EDCC. They are an extension of the school experience giving kids more opportunities to engage with their peers while also continuing the learning that they receive in the classrooms. Their program has expanded our daughter's school experience, providing her with stability, friendship, and community outside of school hours. From their Summer Program to school year schedules, it's apparent how much Ms. Ochoa and the other teachers care deeply about the children within their care. They pour their hearts and souls into the work that they do and we are so thankful to have them in our lives! They create themes, crafts, performance opportunities, and other avenues for children to thrive creatively while also providing a grounded structure that helps children thrive. Our daughter has grown socially and emotionally while at EDCC because of the support and care she's received from the teachers. They are attentive, caring, and patient, always willing to pause and be present with a child who needs extra love or support.

Our family is truly grateful to be part of the EDCC Dougherty community. From the start, we've enjoyed a wonderfully positive experience. The orientation for first time families was exceptional. We had the opportunity to meet the entire faculty and staff, tour the classrooms, review the rules and guidelines, receive EDCC contact information, and set up the convenient app for handling payments and tracking our child's attendance and daily activity history. This thoughtful introduction provided us with immediate peace of mind. EDCC Dougherty provides a safe, nurturing, and loving environment for my daughter, led by a trusting, reliable, and deeply caring staff. Every day when I walk in, I’m greeted by an atmosphere full of excitement, positivity, and fun, engaging activities. The staff are always warm, friendly, and genuinely invested in the children. During the school year, the seamless pickup from the classroom and safe walk back to EDCC (with real time confirmation via the app), makes everything so reassuring. The staff also handle drop off and pickup for any extracurricular activities at the school, adding another layer of convenience and confidence. The program offers our family real peace of mind and the flexibility we need to navigate daily life’s challenges. Communication and organization are outstanding, with clear daily, weekly, and monthly calendars that give us a strong sense of purpose and structure. Additionally, my daughter has learned so much through arts and crafts, as well as exploring general themes like cowboys and farmers—the children are constantly engaged and learning in meaningful ways. One of the highlights has been watching my daughter, who tends to be shy in larger groups, truly blossom here. She’s built a core group of friends (some friendships even extend beyond the program!), and she was gently encouraged to step out of her comfort zone through an amazing EDCC led initiative: the holiday performance in December. The kids practiced diligently for several weeks, and seeing her shine on stage was truly special! Recess is always a blast, with the kids loving games like kickball, tag, basketball, hula hoops, etc. The summer programs are phenomenal, complete with exciting field trips and meaningful parent child events that foster a true sense of community and celebration. Most of all, my daughter always comes home with a big smile—she’s happy, excited, and looks forward to every day at EDCC Dougherty! We wholeheartedly recommend EDCC Dougherty to other families; it’s a place where children have fun, learn, grow, and feel truly valued. Thank you for everything you do!
