Excelsior Prep Academy Preschool

My child acclimated to this place on the first day. The employees are very nice and they love my 3 year old. It’s been about 6 months and my child has never said that they don’t want to go to school. The teachers are nice, the director Heidi is wonderful. Heidi will send pictures personally and does a great job communicating to parents. They use an app to update parents of what they’re doing throughout the day. I am pleased to have found a wonderful daycare!

We’ve had a great experience at Excelsior Prep Preschool of Kendall. From the moment we enrolled, the staff made us feel welcome and supported. Our child adjusted quickly and now looks forward to going every day. The school is clean, organized, and full of positive energy. The curriculum strikes a great balance between learning and play, and we’ve noticed real growth in our child’s communication, confidence, and social skills. One of the standout teachers has been Mrs. Maden she’s warm, patient, and clearly passionate about what she does. Our child always comes home talking about the fun activities in her class, and we can tell she creates a nurturing, engaging environment. The school keeps parents involved without being overwhelming, and there’s a true sense of community among the staff and families. We also really appreciate the emphasis on kindness, responsibility, and respect. Mrs. Maden has made such a positive impact, and we feel lucky to have her guiding our child during these early years. Overall, we’re incredibly happy with our decision to choose Excelsior Prep and would absolutely recommend it to other families in the Kendall area.

Unfair treatment of our son who was in this daycare for less than 3 days. They definitely aren’t what they used to be when they first opened. We had children in our family attend about 10 years ago and they were treated well which is why we wanted our son to attend this school. They have a new director now (Heidi) and unfortunately now they want kids to be indoctrinated into their routines and schedules instantly even if they’ve never been to daycare in their lives. They didn’t even allow him time to adjust or acclimate before we were asked to take our child to a different facility with “less students”. The director took offense that we couldn’t constantly answer her calls of complaints that our son wasn’t wanting to lay down to sleep on the first day and she also complained that he walked too much. Mind you, he is less than two years old and it was his first day. He didn’t even last 3 days before we were basically asked to take him elsewhere. He never scratched or bit or hurt any of the children, which I would understand if that was the case. These people don’t want to do their jobs and completely lack understanding that we are working parents who couldn’t answer the phone every 30 minutes asking us to pick him up only after 2 hours of our son being in school. We still did though even though he wasn’t sick or hurt in any way. They just didn’t want to take the time to teach him the classroom routines. Save your money and go somewhere where they treat your children with kindness, patience and love. The amount of money daycares are asking parents to pay to then be told to pick their children up two hours in and then to be told to find another center for them because they don’t fall in line 2 1/2 days into the child’s first week is unfair and disgusting treatment.

If we could give 10 stars, we would ! We’ve been at this school for a couple of years, and it has been an amazing experience. The director, Heidy, is outstanding—she leads with warmth and truly cares about every family. Each teacher - Ms. Rocio, Ms. Misdely, and Ms. Made—has been so special, kind, and dedicated. We’ve been happy with every level our child has moved up to. Our child has learned so much and is so interactive and social since attending. The staff is trustworthy, the school is always clean, and the environment is nurturing and supportive. We highly recommend this school to any family looking for a place where their child will truly thrive!

I cannot explain how thankful I am for a wonderful experience at Excelsior Prep! Heidy’s leadership is truly exceptional she creates a warm, organized, and nurturing environment where children thrive. The VPK teachers do an amazing job preparing the kids for kindergarten through engaging lessons, structure, and lots of encouragement. I’ve seen the growth, sense of community and confidence of the kids. The teachers who care for the younger age groups are equally incredible. Their genuine love and attention to each child’s well-being is clear in everything they do, from the way they comfort little ones to how they celebrate each milestone. Highly recommend this daycare to any family looking for a safe, educational, and supportive environment
