When I asked my 5-year-old what he loves most about his school, he said: “I love all of my teachers, I learn a new thing in every class, and we have the best playground.” As a mom, nothing matters more to me than knowing my child is happy, safe, and excited to go to school every day. My son looks forward to seeing his teachers and his friends, and he comes home proud of what he has learned. Watching him grow academically and emotionally in such a nurturing environment has been a wonderful experience. European Academy is a small school with a strong sense of community. My son has made wonderful friendships, and we as parents have also gained meaningful friendships with other families. There is something very special about being part of a school where everyone genuinely cares for one another. The school has found the perfect balance between learning and joy. The academics are strong, but everything is taught in a way that is fun, age-appropriate, and encouraging. The teachers are patient, loving, and incredibly experienced. The quality of learning my daughter receives here far surpasses what I have seen in other local programs, including Grace Preschool, Venice Christian Pre-K, and the YMCA Pre-K. Having experienced these other schools with my older children, I am continually impressed by the advanced curriculum and nurturing atmosphere provided at the European Academy. I never imagined children this young could absorb so much knowledge, and I am deeply grateful that my daughter is able to participate in such meaningful learning experiences while enjoying herself and forming strong bonds with her teachers. She frequently comes home declaring, “I love school” and “I love my teachers.” I have even overheard her engaging with friends who attend different schools, asking, “Are your teachers angry or happy?” Occasionally, her friends mention that their teachers can be angry, to which my daughter confidently replies, “My teachers are always happy.” These innocent yet insightful comments reflect the genuine warmth and positivity she experiences at the European Academy. Early Learning Achievements My daughter began attending this school when she was just two years old, and the impact on her development has been remarkable. Friends and family often comment on her impressive vocabulary, noting how advanced her language skills are for her age. For example, during a conversation about a trip to Rome and the Colosseum, my daughter chimed in, “I know where that is—it’s in Italy!” This surprised everyone present and showcased her growing knowledge. While some might question the need for young children to learn complex material, I have found that, as experts often say, children at this age are like sponges. The lessons and experiences she gains now will undoubtedly stay with her for years to come.
