What Parents Say
This appears to be a Temple/synagogue, not a daycare center. Reviews praise the warm, welcoming atmosphere, Rabbi Harris's leadership, and beautiful facilities. One negative review criticized the temple's fee assessment process as unprofessional and exclusionary.
It’s been nearly a year since my last visit to a temple in Oklahoma, where I enjoyed a Friday night service that truly resonated with me. I was eager to make the hour-long drive for more regular participation. However, I was taken aback when I received a call the following day requesting my employment and gross pay stubs to determine my monthly fees. This approach felt unprofessional; it seemed overly focused on financial matters without any inquiry into my background or an invitation to engage with the community. As a result, my interest in continued involvement has declined. As someone who identifies as Jewish through my mother and grandmother, despite their limited religious practice, I was looking forward to exploring my faith and sharing it with my children. This experience has highlighted the barriers that can prevent individuals from truly engaging with such communities. I believe there’s a significant need for more inclusive and welcoming practices that foster genuine connection and participation.
Their preschool is wonderful. The teachers are friendly and supportive, their curriculum is involved and active, and the atmosphere in general seems like the kids absolutely love being there. They bring in outside folks to do gym classes, music classes, thst sort of stuff. Very fun.
Too many great memories at Temple to name, but let me point out a few: Rabbi Vered Harris guided me to the gates and then inside the gates of Judaism. My daughter had her bat mitzvah in this place. Nearly every Friday we come to this place to share community and reconnect. Such a warm, friendly, inviting atmosphere, even if you just visiting.
My first visit to this Temple says it all: I was greated as soon as I came in the door and many people introduced themselves. A very warm and friendly atmosphere. The Shabbat service was very well done with progressive music and quite a large crowd. The oneg afterward was well attended and I was introduced to the Rabbi and many of the congregants. The facility is spectacular. The Ester Greenberg chaple and the Santuary are gorgeous! Judaism is alive and well in Oklahoma City.
As is said about artists, before leaders of Temple B'nai Israel in OKC "go to work," they "dip the brush" into their souls. It is an incredibly friendly, caring, wonderful congregation. Not just words on a brochure or website, TBI truly is warm, welcoming, vibrant. This is how we make a better world.
