What Parents Say
Episcopal Day School of Evergreen receives mostly positive reviews, with parents praising the caring teachers, small class sizes, affordable tuition, and strong sense of community. However, one parent raised concerns about teacher feedback and leadership accountability in handling their concerns.
Evergreen is such a small community, and I am very grateful that my daughter gets to be in Ms. Inez’s and Ms. Sally’s class at EDSE. They are both kind, patient, and genuinely caring with the children. The kids are happy here and love learning and building friendships with one another. It truly is a special place!!! While our overall experience has been positive, communication from leadership has been unclear, and there have been a few instances where policies were not fully communicated across staff. I sincerely care about this school and want it to thrive, especially because it plays such an important role in my daughter’s life. I hope this feedback can help strengthen leadership communication and foster a welcoming, supportive environment for both children and parents.
My kiddos went to Episopal Day School of Evergreen over two years - for 3 full-day week and summer camp - ages 2/3 and 4/5. They have small class sizes, giving the kids much needed attention. It is very convienent and a great value as their tuition fees are not outrageous like some other schools in the area. The toddler building is very old but we loved the nostalgia of it - feels more like home. The staff is very kind and works with families to problem-solve. A sweet spot for kiddos.
Our kids absolutely love EDSE! Our 3 year old comes home from school with a new song every time and is always chatting with us about things we haven't taught her yet, so they must be coming from school. The teachers are wonderful and responsive and go out of their way to help us and our kids. EDSE is a community and we've had the opportunity to meet a bunch of the other parents as we've been invited to a few of the kids birthday parties. We are so happy to have found such a loving environment so close to home. And it's actually affordable! Don't think we could ask for much more.
My daughter was told by one of the teachers that she was “behind” in every category. She was mislabeled and when it was brought up to the asst director, she communicated that she wanted the teacher to apologize. (That was on her own without our request-we just agreed.) The teacher never apologized and then the asst director changed her tune; deflected that it was the parents’ issue?! No accountability what so ever for misleading, waste of time, hurtful things being eluded to about my daughter. I’m supposed to trust that these folks are looking out for my child’s best interest when this is how they treat our family?! It’s no big deal until it’s your kid being singled out?! Im sorry this is personal when it comes to my child. Could all have avoided or handled much more professionally.
My son has gone here the last year and it’s been incredible. The teachers are very attentive and responsive. My son has a blast!
