We recently went to the Easter celebration at Independence Park hosted by this church, and let me just say—I had such a good time I almost forgot I was a stressed-out parent for a day! I had to write this review because, honestly, y’all deserve a standing ovation (and maybe a lifetime supply of chocolate eggs). Now, I was worried about the egg hunt. Flashbacks to previous years where kids turned into sugar-fueled stampeding wildebeests were very real. One second it’s “go!” and the next—chaos, elbows flying, eggs disappearing faster than my willpower near cake. Not fun. But THIS event? Totally different. First of all, the weather was showing off—sunny, cool, with a breezy little hair commercial moment. We stopped by some craft booths, and the sweetest older lady helped my kids. She was so patient, so kind, and treated them like tiny VIPs. My kids were thrilled—glue sticks and googly eyes galore! Then came the egg hunt. And let me tell you—I was ready to dive for cover. But plot twist! They had it beautifully organized by age group (hallelujah!). Each kid got a word, and the eggs had letters attached. No mad dash, no bruised egos—or shins. Just focused little detectives on a mission. My kids actually slowed down and enjoyed the egg hunt. I almost cried. Once they found all their letters, they got a bag of very respectable treats. Not one of those sad plastic toys that break before you get to the car. And even better—they reused the eggs! Genius. It wasn’t about hoarding eggs like tiny Easter dragons—it was about the experience. So to everyone who helped organize this: THANK YOU. You made our day feel joyful, calm, and honestly a little magical. We’re not religious, but for a moment there, I swear I felt Jesus fist-bump the Easter Bunny.

I have debated writing this review for a very long time. I had my child in their MDO program two years ago. We pulled her out after 3-4 months of attending. My daughter at the time was just under 2 years old. We dropped her off just to get a break and do some errands/chores. I would notice other classrooms would have lots of pictures, but I would constantly look for pictures of her, and there were very few. One time, I picked her up and she was waiting for us. They were all sitting down and she was getting up to greet us when the teacher yanked her arm. I work in the medical field and this is typically how a nursemaids elbow happens. I was shocked to see the teacher treat her so roughly while I was watching. I can't imagine what happens behind closed doors. Besides being sick 50% of the time, ultimately the reason why we pulled her out, is when she came home with orange fiber remnants in her cheek. Her cheek was super puffy and when we told her to open her mouth there was still food in there. Normally, not a red flag; however, there's a 1 hour nap after lunch time. There was a possibility of her choking on that in her sleep. Some children lose their lives with a careless mistake like this. Unfortunately, I would never be able to recommend this place for anyone to leave their child.

Enjoyed a community BBQ with church friends after service today. Shared hurricane and flood stories. Watched the first half of the Texans game. Great fellowship!
