What Parents Say
Reviews are highly polarized with fabricated/nonsensical positive reviews contrasting sharply with detailed negative accounts. Legitimate reviewers report serious concerns about facility conditions, staff professionalism, and educational quality, while some current/former participants describe positive experiences and career advancement.
Do NOT attend this place they do not teach at all, they all there for the money the staff do not care about how they make those kids feel, if I could say everything about this place it’ll be shut down! Do not attend
If I could say everything I ever wanted to say about this place it would be a book length. Please DO NOT send your kids here. This campus is ranked incredibly low, and for good reason. These people do not care about your education or you completing trade, they solely care about how good this campus looks compared to others. It's about numbers and money with them, nothing more. When it comes to coming to Job Corp and doing what you're supposed to do and leave, they fail heavily on that. The system is so backward and no one really cares if you progress or not, not staff, not the director, no one. They will make up excused and have you follow rules and such that they themselves fail to follow. You get treated like a child here, no matter the age. Everything here is about cleaning and making this place look nice IF corporate were to show up. This place makes it impossible to continue. From lack of staff, mistreatment and upon other things. If you could just PLEASE please choose another one this one is not for many.
If you can.. please pick another center. They won't let the ones already here leave because of fear of closing. The staff I give a 6/10. The dorms.. horrible. Mold. RA's are rude and sometimes under the influence. Food is sometimes not cooked all the way through. The nurses are not nurse like. They are rude and don't care about your health until the Doctor shows up on campus.
People tend to get here 7 to 14 days after their second interview. But know that the situation here has some omission. When you get here you'll spend a month not in your trade, you'll then take two tests that are designed for you to fail. If you do faile you'll do 60 hours of basic reading and math until you do pass. No trade training though. Or very little at best. I thought I was out of the woods when I passed on the first try, but then there's the living conditions. Mold on the vents, consistently cold in the dorm even in January (on account of their wallets I'm sure) and a flu outbreak where it took my seven days to get any help even with a fever. And I'm a lucky one. There's a reason they can't meet their quotas, however I graduate in about a month, and I'll be leaving with all I came for and more, with a free trip back home. So it CAN work for you. Just be informed about the situation, and expect politics and diversions on the way. Strongly recommend Florida centers though.
My name is Yoshikage Kira. I'm 23 years old. My house is in the northeast section of Memphis, where all the apartments are, and I am not married. and I get in my room every day by 9:25 PM at the latest. I don't smoke, but I occasionally sleep. I'm in bed by 11 PM, and make sure I get eight hours of sleep, no matter what. Yet still haunted at night by the nightmarish restrictions JobCorp holds and the horrid smell of rooms and declining hygiene of staff and students alike, their breath is a serious problem. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning, realizing I still have to deal with this place. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning until I realize I'm still at this emotionally unstable staff infested, same food from the week before, prison like place which shouldn't be called a Job Preparation center. It's ironic it's called that because the staff never admits their wrongs or do their jobs and edit student statements to make this dumpster fire of a place look good. I was told there were no issues at my last check-up. I'm trying to explain that I'm a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. I take care not to trouble myself with any enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause me to lose sleep at night. That is how I deal with society, and I know that if I left now it would bring me happiness. Also, I lay a card face down, Your move.
