East Bench Little Learners

Jann started caring for my daughter at 10 weeks old and my son when he was 4 months old. When we moved out of state, the thing I was most devastated about was having to find a new daycare. We (my kids, husband and I) absolutely loved East Bench Little Learners. Every time we travel back to Utah we stop by to say hi. Many of my kids best qualities are things they learned here. We loved the teachers and the structure. The kids are taken excellent care of and are taught many skills and given opportunities to grow and learn. I had nothing but an amazing experience for the 5 years I had my kiddos there and would absolutely recommend.

I’ve consistently had my kids enrolled at East Bench since 2019. My now 8 year old started there when she was almost 3 and my toddler has been enrolled since he was 3 months old. With the smaller group of kids at EB, I’ve gotten to know Jann, other parents, and each of the providers that has worked with Jann over the time we’ve been with her and as a family we’ve been extremely happy with our experience. It’s not easy leaving your babies but when you see them excited to come see their friends and how everyone genuinely cares for them, it becomes a little easier. One of the things I like the most is how classes are mixed so siblings can play together and younger kids can learn from older and there’s a great amount of socialization. I always describe it as a little more organic; it doesn’t have the typical sterile daycare center feel. There’s a lot of plants and they run essential oils during the winter months. The kids play outside in the mornings, they rotate toys and what they play with each day. Bad behavior isn’t tolerated (I’ve never had an incident report for biting or scratching like I did at our previous daycare.) Any time we’ve had a question or issue we’ve been able to have it resolved quickly, with great communication and she’s been very accommodating. I’ve referred family and many friends to her over the years and will continue to do so. East Bench LL might not be for everyone but it’s a great place for our family! Note: Jann did not ask me to write this review; I’m doing it on my own accord. I saw other reviews when I was looking up the address to refer yet another one of my friends and had to give my honest thoughts as a parent.

Having toured this facility for possible childcare for our son my wife and I decided we were not comfortable with leaving our child there. The biggest red flag for us was the interaction we observed between the owner of the facility (Jan) and the children that were there the day we visited. The children were excited to have us walking around as children typically get when some new is around, and Jan's reaction to the kids was very controlling, abrupt, and rude to the kids. We thought that if that is how she is when we are there, it can't be good when parents aren't around. The cleanliness was not great. The play area out back was pretty beat up and didn't feel that safe. Lastly, the staff didn't feel very qualified to be watching multiple kids at a time. So we looked at several other options and found way better places to take our son than this place. My recommendation is look else where in Ogden, you will find a lot better for your children.

My girls have been at this daycare since they were babies and I wouldn’t have it any other way! They are so clean and so good to the kids I would recommend East Bench Little Learners to any parent! I love this place!

Would 100% recommend bring my children to Jann. She is probably one of the best people I know and absolutely loves the kids.
