What Parents Say
Early Steps Bilingual Academy receives overwhelmingly positive reviews, with parents praising the bilingual education program, caring staff, and individualized attention to children's needs. The facility is noted for strong academics, language immersion, and accommodations for special needs. However, two negative reviews cite concerns about the owner's demeanor and an allegation regarding medication administration.
We can't say enough about the care and education our grandson has received through ESBA! Miss Mireya, Mr Jim and staff are phenomenal and help prepare our grandson for 1st grade in so many ways. Thank you very much and keep up the good work!
The teachers are great but the daycare owner is rude. I transferred my daughter to a different daycare and I spoke with the director at the new daycare. She said she took classes with the director/owner at the previous daycare my daughter attended and even in her opinion she thought that she was very rude and conceited. I know she's from a different culture but I know plenty of people from that culture so she cannot use that as an excuse. She just needs to learn some humility and have some manners when she speaking to the people who pay her salary.
Everyone at Early Steps has been incredible to our 2 boys. They LOVE going to school and my 6 year old is now fluent...we completely credit Early Steps! We love Ms. Mireya and her staff...they treat us like family and we couldn't ask for more from who we leave our boys with every day.
This is the hidden gem of pre-schools in Tyler. The wait list can be long, and that tells you a lot. The kids in the oldest classrooms-most have been there together since they were 2. When they begin kinder, they already have friends. It’s like having a small town in a small city! I have two kids. One is high functioning autistic (J) and is now in 1st grade. The other is 4 (A). J began at Early Steps right before age 4. After only spending two years there, J began at the local dual language school, where they told me J spoke and read Spanish even better than English. J was advanced in math, and Mrs. Hicks (owner) took it upon herself to give higher level math activities so J wouldn’t be bored. This kept J engaged with learning before Kinder even started. They also worked with me to accommodate sensory issues, which is HUGE for a preschool. I will be forever grateful for their help in those early years. My youngest, A, began at age 2, and speaks Spanish beautifully. A loves the teachers, and loves going to school each day. They keep A challenged, while having fun. The language comes naturally after being immersed in it. I feel like the owners and staff at ESBA are family at this point. They are incredibly kind, and passionate about what they do. Rarely do I have a concern or question, but when I do they have gone above and beyond to make sure the issue was addressed or the question answered. If you read the State On-site Review write ups, they are one of the best pre-schools in Tyler. It helps that several of the staff were prior teachers, so you can be assured that your child is learning as well as being cared for. As you can see, I am passionate about this school. This is one of the best decisions we made for our kids.
Our daughter has attended for 2.5 years. We love the teachers, language immersion and the director. We’ve had a wonderful experience and feel our child is well loved here. Thanks for all you do.
