What Parents Say
Early Connections @ South Chelton receives mixed reviews. While several parents praise the staff's engagement, learning opportunities, and open communication policies, serious concerns have been raised about management communication failures, health care documentation issues, and billing practices that impact low-income families.
Since January 2021 I have been trying to get my son set up with a nebulizer to use at his daycare. The doctor sent information that wasn't received by the center for months. My son has missed an excessive amount of school due to lack of communication from the center. π©π©Updated May 27th 2022π©π© The director Whitney is incompetent, she doesn't speak to parents (I didn't even know who's she was until today) she doesn't communicate with her staff regarding important meetings (I was DEMANDED to attend a 2.5 hr meeting, along with 3 professional TWICE due to Whitney failing to inform her employee of the time and date of the meeting) she NEVER apologized or took responsibility.I am a small business owner my time is money. Today 5/27 I dropped my son off at school at 7:30 by 9:00 a.m. they were trying to send my son home for various reasons, each time they phoned sounding more desperate (this makes me feel very uncomfortable sending him back to this center). When I asked why my son was allowed in class the day prior Whitney's answer was 'I wasn't here yesterday' which further proves she does not communicate or know what is going on at her center. Whitney's negligence has also put my child's health at risk!!!! She failed to provide all documentations for my son's healthcare provider to fill out for his nebulizer. Prior to spending the time taking the form to my son's physician I called the center to asked if I needed anymore documentation. The school receptionist asked Whitney to which she replied NO. The documentation's my son's healthcare provider had provided was NOT good enough for the school and indeed require more documentation. Whitney dismissed her mistake once again unapologetic of her mistake. She demanding I pick my child up. Whitney doesn't have any respect for the parents. If she is ever in the classroom with my child she looks down, NEVER makes eye contact and speaks only to my child. Despite Whitney's preconceived opinions of the parents at her center I DO NOT get food stamps, if I don't work my family doesn't eat, so for her to have no consequences for her neglect (multiple times) she continues to waste my time, therapist time and her teacher's time. In addition her not providing me with appropriate paperwork she put my son's health at risk. My son will NOT be returning to this center it's not a safe environment for him.
I emailed asking some questions about enrollment here and got a prompt response! My family doesn't quite qualify for their services but Melissa Morales the Enrollment Director here went above and beyond by sending me a list of home providers. Thank you so much Melissa, keep up the great work!
They charge for sick days if your on CCap which is 53.34 a day. Obviously someone on public benefits can't afford such a bill, double slap in addition to any other repercussions from your child being ill.
I love this place! The staff are amazing, they take the time to work with your child to help them learn and grow. They allow volunteers any time, and they have an open door policy so you can visit any time as well.
The staff is amazing. My son is coming home excited about what he learned in school everyday. Super thankful
