This daycare facility was the worst experience for my family. From day one the teacher labeled my son as autistic and chose to mention it every day to me. I explained that he was waiting to be tested, but did not want him treated any differently. Of course, she continued to greet me every day with tasks that my son could not do, due to his “autism” that she (not his doctor) diagnosed him with. My son also received speech therapy at this facility two times a week. The speech therapist contacted me stating she was told she was not allowed to conduct her sessions during our scheduled time due to this “disrupting his day” However the staff never mentioned to me that his day was disrupted. I was also informed by my son’s teacher that her husband brings her groceries to the facility so that she can cook meals for her family’s dinner, all while she is supposed to be supervising the children. I constantly received phone calls to pick up my child due to him being sick, however, he never ran a fever and we had multiple visits to the doctor to clarify that all he was experiencing was allergies. My final breaking straw was when my son had a dirty diaper as I was dropping him off. I offered to change him before I left and was told they did not have a changing table, even though the facility is for 2-5 year olds. I was told that my son just bends over on a step stool and she wipes him, which is how I ended up changing him that day. He was only enrolled for 3 months and that was entirely too long.
Ms Quintell is an absolute gem and amazing with the children. I was apprehensive initially with my 5yr old granddaughter but when I saw how excited she was to return each time I knew I had found the right place. The staff are very professional and engaged with the children. I also appreciate how discipline is handled from a more of a positive reinforcement perspective.
