What Parents Say
Drueding Center/Project Rainbow receives overwhelmingly positive feedback from parents and former residents who praise the quality of care, staff, and educational environment. The facility appears to have made a significant positive impact on families over many years. However, one negative experience was reported regarding staff responsiveness to a phone inquiry.
I called to try to locate a family member that has been missing for two weeks due to some mental health issues she has. The lady name Roberta answered the call and I try explaining to her about my family member’s situation and I couldn’t even give my family member’s name and Roberta said I wouldn’t know and hanged up on me. I tell you a lot of Philadelphia workers in many facilities are so ignorant and disrespectful even when you’re speaking to them respectfully, it seems like they don’t want to do their jobs. I understand that working in these type places can be difficult with certain people’s attitudes and disrespectful ways. Workers need to get retrained over again so they can do their jobs properly. This isn’t a way to speak to people who are in need or are asking simple questions.
I lived at Project Rainbow and the memories that I have of 4th and Master are the greatest I was treated very well and so was my two year son, I learned a lot, and became a better person, I missed all the friends I made there, this is to all the individuals that are there now, learn, live , and love and stay in touch with life, and at least two people that you know from 4th and Master St stay in touch with em.
My three year old son started there 12/20 on the day of his birthday, everything was fine. Although the teacher who was assigned to my sons class wasn't a lead teacher and they were looking for someone who could be the lead teacher. She was in that class by herself for about two months until they finally hired a new teach. I was happy for the poor assistant teacher because she finally had someone who could help her keep the children under control. But about two weeks after the new teacher for there she was being left in the class by herself with the children. On our way home my son, who has a disability told me that the new teacher had pinched him. I contacted the director, who said that he would suspend the teacher until an investigation was completed....there was no investigation, my son was being treating like a lier and the teacher kept her job needless to say my son no longer attends this program
My son and I used to be a resident almost 20 years ago. I still visit and atill feel like the staff is family. This place was such a major influence in my life. It saved my life!!
Yes Christina ROBERTA IS QUITE RUDE TO BE IN THAT KIND OF INDUSTRY WHEN PEOPLE ARE IN NEED OF ASSISTANCE YOU DONT NEED SOMEONE WITH THAT TYPE OF ATTITUDE
