Great gym with every amenity you can possibly imagine for a very reasonable price.
Became a member two weeks ago. Monday 6/2 I left and all was well. 6/3 I returned, opened my locker, and all my contents were missing. I lost sentimental items such as Nike shoes I bought on my honeymoon in Taiwan and my late grandfather's sweater I wear. After I escalated I was told I couldn't refund my membership even though my privacy was violated and that the "manager" was in charge of investigations and would contact me. I don't feel any care from the YMCA. I was a men's club member with a coded door to enter the locker room and a built in lock for my locker and my stuff was still stolen. Very poor experience. It is 11PM on 6/4 and after escalating the issue no one has even called me from the YMCA to provide any sort of update. I filed a police report for the first time in my life to let the police sort it out. Terrible experience. Never join the downtown YMCA unless you want apathetic service, your locker contents stolen, and to be ghosted on updates.
My favorite place to get a workout in. It’s never busy and the people their are always friendly
There are some very friendly staff members at this location. That’s probably the only reason I keep going here. The reason for giving them only one star is they have horrible hours. I truly want a 24 hour gym. I want to gym that’s open more often it’s upsetting that they’re closed on the weekend. I wish they would at least extend their weekend hours and be open on Sunday, that might make me stick around just wish they were simply open on Sunday
It's not perfect, but it's a good place to work out. It is a bit ghetto, there's no denying it, but the staff do a good job of keeping the place from falling apart and maintaining peace when things occasionally get rowdy. If your looking for a good place to work out and don't mind the few flaws this location has, come here and get a good workout. It's worth visiting at least once if you go to any of the other Y locations in Erie.
