What Parents Say
Downtown Children's Learning Place receives overwhelmingly positive reviews from current and former families who praise the caring, attentive staff and accelerated child development. Parents consistently highlight the vibrant atmosphere, engaging curriculum with frequent field trips, and reasonable costs with included meals and diapers. One parent reported a serious incident involving an injured infant and poor hygiene standards.
We truly love DCLP and feel so lucky that our daughter was able to start her daycare journey here. The teachers – Every single teacher is incredibly loving and patient. When our 9-month-old first started, she would cry and have tantrums every day. The teachers treated her with such care and warmth, and over time we saw a complete change: she now happily plays with her friends, reaches for her teachers, and clearly feels safe and loved. The atmosphere – Compared with other daycares we visited, DCLP immediately stood out. The center has such a vibrant and joyful energy, and you can feel it as soon as you walk in. The curriculum and activities – The teachers keep the days engaging and meaningful, from daily walks along the river (we loved seeing the adorable photos!) to a variety of activities that encourage development. We noticed that our daughter began hitting her milestones—rolling, crawling, standing—so much faster after joining DCLP. Community – The staff makes a real effort to build community among families. They host a “Parents Night Out” almost every Friday, where for a small fee (under $50) kids can stay at the daycare while parents enjoy dinner or a breather. They also host summer celebrations and other fun events that bring everyone together. Convenience – Some teachers are also available for babysitting after daycare hours. This has been incredibly helpful for us, since our baby already knows and trusts them, and we can go out knowing she’s happy and comfortable. Cost-effectiveness – The tuition is very reasonable compared with other centers, especially considering how much is included. Diapers and food are provided, which not only saves us money but also the hassle of packing supplies every day. We are incredibly grateful for the care, warmth, and support we’ve experienced here. If it weren’t for a family situation that requires us to spend a few months in Seattle, we would never want to leave. DCLP is a truly special place, and we recommend it wholeheartedly.
We miss CLP all the time after switching daycares due to job requirements! We've since been to a couple daycares and I still haven't found a daycare that provides the same level of personal attention and caring. Some unique things that CLP offers that I didn't realize at the time were unique: weekly field trips, twice daily walks (weather permitting), regular parent teacher conferences, and semi annual assessments on development. If I was able to, I would bring my daughter back.
Absolutely love Children's Learning Place (CLP)! Our daughter has been going there for 6 months The care: Our daughter's development has accelerated well beyond the pace of our last daycares. CLP has asked us what we want to work on with her and executed so well. They also do so many activities throughout the day with the kids that our daughter truly loves being at daycare more than being at home, and I think we take pretty darn good care of her at home. The administration: Everyone has been absolutely lovely since we've toured with them through every day we've brought our daughter in. Any requests, accommodations, or questions we've had have been promptly handled. The mobile app for updates feels a little dated compared to some modern options but it's still fully functional and we get so many great photos each day of our kids and any messages as needed. I'm not sure what the deal is with the low star reviews years ago, but our experience (high end of infants class) and our friends child (preschool class) have loved it. Highly recommend.
Of all the decisions we have made so far, putting our daughter in Children's Learning Place was by far the most correct one. Maria and her whole staff are amazing. Our daughter learns new and important things every day, and the support they provide for all her phases is impeccable. If I have a recommendation to give to all mothers, it would be this: put your children in CLP. You will not regret it.
Our family has been at the DCLP since 2016. I trust and love the people at Downtown Children’s Learning Place. They have come to be like family to us over the years. My daughter (4) and son (2) LOVE it there. The teachers go above and beyond at every age group to make sure kids are safe happy and engaged in learning. The Wiggles (infant) room was like having an extension of myself at times and my daughter had specific medical issues so I was so thankful to have them to trust when I went back to work- both of my babies were there at 3 and 4 months old. Since then they have progressed through each of the classrooms, and each one we have adored and eventually have become friends with the teachers. Maria and Alicia and I have had honest and productive discussions when I have communicated any questions they have been understanding supportive and accommodating at every turn. I am incredibly grateful for DCLP and it will be a big change for my family when we have outgrown it. I would highly recommend them to any family looking for a safe happy place for their children!
