What an awesome experience! The food was really good. We ordered for 4 people and still took food home. Very good food and waiter service. (They are now located a Hotel Media Luna in Comerio. The food is just as delicious.)
Been waiting to have the opportunity to visit the new place ( still love the old one) up in the hill. Comerio has a festival so stop first here. The new place is at the media luna hotel and is easy to find, See the photos and look a the specialty of the house. The red beans with “patitas de cerdo” was phenomenally good!!! Also the rice, the smoke meat, the “tostones” just see the photos….
We stopped here for lunch on our way through Comerio. We ordered the Conejo Ahumada (smoked rabbit) and pollo empanadas (chicken wings). Both were good. The food took a while to come out but I think the kitchen was far away from the dining area and we were there during the slow season. Parking is tricky to access, make sure you look for the non-hotel registration entrance.
Whoa this place was abysmal!! The food was bad. Like bad bad. Got one order of carne ahumada and one of chicharrones de pollo. Both with mofongo. One of pana the other yuca. Okay let's go... #1 it was greasy and fat. #2 the mofongo was tasteless. #3 they has flies. If you knew me you'd know I wouldn't complain about something that can be out of their hands but this was an unusual, could barely eat the bad food, amount of flies. Had to get a plate to swat them away to take turns eating. The staff was lovely and the area was too but it just wasn't worth it to me. We sat at tables past the bar. Maybe that was it but it's not worth it to me to give them a second chance. Just fyi.. The parking is downhill so you have to walk up to get to the restaurant. That's what we did but coming down there was a staff member with a cart that brought us to the car. Really nice guy. If you have mobility issues I could see this being a problem. Basically don't go. If you want some really great versions of what we ordered go to Casita Guavate. I could've gotten the same order there but with a level of flavor that is unparalleled.
A jewel in the mountains, what a nice place, has a small quiet hotel a few pools to take a swim great views, and a solid restaurants. A must go with family and friends.
