What Parents Say
Discovery Village Learning Center receives mixed reviews with eight 5-star ratings praising staff care, curriculum quality, and communication, but two 1-star reviews citing staff inattentiveness, high turnover, lack of accreditation, and safety concerns. Most positive reviewers highlight strong teacher-child relationships, structured lesson plans, and parent engagement through Class Dojo.
My daughter has been here for about 3 years and I’ve enjoyed working with her teachers and there is pretty open communication on how she’s doing via the Class Dojo. I like that they work with her and understand her personality. (She’s not a napper but she can have quiet time or “help” others). Smaller class sizes and I enjoy hearing how excited she is to talk about her day.
My grandson attended here for a year before attending Pre-K. The transition was flawless. My 11 month old grandson will start attending here soon. We love that they are part of Texas Rising Star and must meet state mandated requirements. Having an employee of Child Care Management Services we are able to do a deep dive into daycares and we choose to trust DVLC with our children.
My baby started attending DVLC when we first relocated to Texas and I was nervous being she came from a family daycare and this was new for us. DVLC family welcomed us with open arms and my baby has been excelling ever since! My child has learned so much since she has been here and we love the staff!! I enjoy the fact that they have a actual lesson plans and homework for them and how they keep the parents involved and up to date with class dojo! We love you DVLC keep being great stand up teachers for our babies words will never show enough appreciation ❤️❤️❤️
I wish I could give this day school 5 stars, however, I CANNOT! Which is why we left. They let me down as a partner. Since daycares opened back up, this was my baby's FIRST school and I now have zero faith in anyone else because of staff members behaviors, lack of maturity, and business sense. You know there are concerns when you see TODDLERS CRYING ALL THE TIME. In addition, the staff turnover rate is astronomical! I saw new face after new face after new face, upon drop off and pickup, yet there were never any notifications sent home to introduce the new members in the building to the paying family members. While the initial inquiring and touring phase was pleasant and welcoming , I wish I could say that I felt those home-like bonding feelings throughout my child’s duration at this facility. Especially since the school is structured like a home. But, they know the game, and how to doll it up for tours, and its not authentic. Something is off at this center, very sketchy business. Be careful and do your research. Ask many questions. Sadly, I did not dive deeply about the center...I learned they are a NON-accredited centers. Therefore, they DO NOT meet level of quality whereby the service provider demonstrates the capacity, commitment, and competence to support high-quality learning and ongoing program improvement. And this was unfortunately the case here. I am glad that I took my baby out while he/she was still alive and well, before who knows what more could have happened. 0/10 recommend (I would give NEGATIVE STARS if I could!)
Went to pick my son up early and walked in on him crying with one of the teachers sitting just two feet away scrolling on her cell phone. Also, they overfed my baby after I gave clear instructions on what to do. I wasn’t impressed with the lack of communication between the staff nor the environment as a whole. You walk in and there is a cord dangling on the floor where kids pass by daily. There were other small things as well that didn’t sit right with me. I pulled my baby after only two weeks.
