Discovery Jungle Preschool

So, I was looking at daycare for my child. I was not impressed; I was concerned for the safety of the children being cared for. Show up early for our appointment. 1st thing I noticed was that these ladies were going in and out of the building, and there was a child who almost ran out the door. 2nd was how inappropriate one of the staff members was wearing. We decided to head in to see if we could start our tour a little early, but couldn’t because the lady we had the appointment with had to take the older kids to elementary school. Just so you know that the front room with the door is a classroom too, which doesn’t appear to have any lock on it as we left, where these children are, maybe around 3 to 4 years old (we will call this classroom 1). Then a child from classroom 1 left their classroom and was repeatedly told to go back to their classroom by the infant teacher. You can tell the infant teacher wants to take him back to the class, but saw us watching, decided she wasn't going to leave her children alone, but the was enough hesitation to notice what she was thinking. So makes me question if she might occasionally leave her children alone. The teacher came and got the child, leaving the other children unattended. Remind this is the classroom 1 with the front door, with no appearance of anything locking the door. They were 7 minutes past our scheduled time, and they started showing the infant classroom to another lady. We asked if she was scheduled before us, as the teacher from classroom 1, once again, left her children alone. She was like, yeah. At this time, I was disgusted with what I had witnessed during my time there, and I think parents need to be aware of what is going on in their child's childcare facilities. If they know this place is not safe, I believe they should be accountable as well for child safety. As we walk out, we walk through where the child was left alone and walk right out the door with no problem. So, imagine how easy it is for a child to leave while being left unattended.

My daughter has attended this school for the past 2 years. They have always been good to her. One of the concerns I had with other daycare facilities were the staff rotations. I never dropped off or picked up my child from the same person. At Discovery Jungle the staff is very consistent and kind. Not only do they form a bond with their students but they also do a wonderful job of getting to know the parents. The business was sold from the owner that I started with last year and I was a little nervous for the change but they did a really good job of making the transition seamless for the parents. I would recommend this place (and I do) to all my friends with little kids.

My daughter attended here for two years. I always knew she was safe, well taken care of and learning. They have yoga and sign language days and so many, very cute, refrigerator worthy crafts coming home each day. Each teacher is patient and works well with the children. Even when my child wasn't working so well with them. I'd recommend this preschool/ daycare to anyone looking for care for their young children. My child was sad to leave, although they did help her to be very excited about entering kindergarten. I, also, feel she is more prepared.

We have had our children at Discovery Jungle for almost three years. For the most part I have been very satisfied with the care my children received. The center is small and like a little family which is why I chose to send my children there. There has been a lot of staff turnover which is my only complaint. But because of the co director Angelique I kept my children there. Angelique has been the only staff member that has been there since we started. She has taken great care of my kids and I couldn’t be happier with her. She is always so positive and up beat and I feel like she has taken care of my kids like they are her own. My youngest graduates the preschool program and we will no longer be part of the DJP family but will continue on with the friendships we made.

My three old daughter has attended Discovery Jungle for a year now and we absolutely love it. She has grown leaps and bounds in this year and loves going to school. The teachers are so loving and caring and she’s made the sweetest little friendships. The small size really helps create a family like feel. I highly recommend Discovery Jungle. We are constantly referring other parents.
