Discoveries Learning Center

To say my son loves Discoveries Learning Center is an understatement. He cannot wait to get to “the Farmhouse” each morning to see his teachers and his friends. When I pick him up, he is so excited to tell me about his day and all the fun things he did at school. My son’s baseline is happy but his happiness is truly on another level since he has been attending Discoveries. The teachers are excellent and they love what they do. My son feels cared for, loved, and valued by all the teachers and staff at Discoveries. I have also seen a huge impact on his language and knowledge development since he started at Discoveries just 3.5 months ago. I credit that to the freedom that the teachers at Discoveries give to the children to explore what interests them. Karin Beal, the Center Director at Discoveries, and Lucy Fay, the Health and Safety Director, are just phenomenal. Karin and Lucy work tirelessly to make sure that the children are safe and follow healthy habits while at school. They are also very responsive to parents’ concerns and incredibly collaborative in addressing any concerns or issues. Overall, the learning and growing environment at Discoveries is nurturing in the most loving way. My son is a lucky boy to have the opportunity to attend Discoveries!

My daughter has been attending Discoveries Learning Center on Hollister for a few months now and we have loved everything about this special place! The teachers are so kind and welcoming. They keep the children busy with creative activities that help them learn so much along the way. I love that my daughter talks about her teachers all day even at home because she loves them so much. The director, Karin, has been so easy to communicate with. She is always responsive and you can tell she really cares about the families. All of the staff has been wonderful. We would highly recommend this preschool to our family and friends!

We are so beyond happy with our experience at Discoveries! The staff are like family to us and we trust them fully with our two boys. We’ve now been there for 2.5 years and are familiar with all of the teachers and can say for certain that they go above and beyond. I think it’s rare to find a school where everyone feels like family, yet you still have the structure, support, professionalism, and expertise of a well oiled machine. It goes without saying that our boys love it and are there M-F half days. Highly recommend!!

At the start of the pandemic, my child was at another preschool that suffered severe staff shortages. Our childcare was sporadic and unpredictable most days, which prompted us to make the move to Discoveries. The teachers at Discoveries were AMAZING - many very long tenured and passionate about their work - and the transition was so easy. My child really flourished under the learning program at Discoveries and we saw personality changes as they grew in confidence in their academics and social skills. My child will be starting Kindergarten in the fall and they are more than ready to go - that emotional and academic growth wouldn't have been possible without the fantastic teachers and staff who genuinely love and care for the children. It's bittersweet to go, but I could not recommend Discoveries Learning Center more to caregivers - really a stellar school!

We have been sending our little one to Discoveries for over a year now and it has been a great experience! The staff is excellent, engaging and very positive. Teacher Alicia is absolutely wonderful and I cannot say enough amazing things about her! We get daily updates from the school with the topics they learned about and photos of their daily activities. And through COVID they have been diligent in making sure the kids and families are safe. Wonderful School!
