We submitted a non-refundable deposit to Dig and, within less than 24 hours, realized the school was not the right fit for our daughter. Before the official start date, I was required to do a playdate at the school, which gave me a much clearer sense of the environment than the initial one-hour group orientation. During that playdate, I realized the experience did not feel meaningfully different from being at home with us, and it became clear that this wasn’t the right setting for our child. I immediately reached out to the school multiple times within 24 hours of submitting the deposit to request a refund, noting that our child had not started and had not attended a single day. Unfortunately, the request was denied. My husband and I are local business owners ourselves, and while we also have non-refundable deposit policies, we believe there are situations where flexibility and good faith matter — especially when services haven’t started and a family quickly realizes it’s not a fit. We would never want a client to feel forced into supporting our business if they’re unhappy. I found this experience really disappointing. I’m sharing this so other families are fully aware of the policy and how situations like this are handled before committing.

Our family absolutely loved DIG! We joined in 2020, and what a time to join a new community with a little 2.5yr old. The teachers were kind and loving, the parent support is incredibly (monthly courses taught by a psychologist) and they helped us through the big transition. We actually bought a house outside of LA and opted to rent it for a year so we could stay for a full year at DIG. We were so sad to leave this community. They have made some changes to make it more feasible for more families like extended hours and optional parent hours. We recommend this preschool and would have loved to have both our children here had we not moved!

After viewing a number of local preschools for my daughter, choosing DIG was easy. She was immediately comfortable there and the teachers are so incredibly caring and patient. My husband and I became first time parents during COVID so we were certainly anxious about sending her to any school and since day one I’ve never felt worried or concerned about my child’s care. I especially love that at DIG, she can be a kid, decide what she wants to do, who she wants to play with, and is learning new emotional regulation and communication skills that will serve her for her entire life.

If you're in search of a preschool that prioritizes genuine childhood experiences and holistic development, look no further than DIG Childhood Center. Ever since we made the switch from a traditional preschool, the transformation in my son's happiness and social-emotional skills has been remarkable. He eagerly looks forward to each school day—a stark contrast to our previous struggles. What's more, the constant cycle of illnesses that plagued our family has become a distant memory, thanks to DIG's emphasis on outdoor exploration and natural environments. DIG isn't just a school; it's a sanctuary of childhood joys. Watching the children thrive amidst plants, dirt, and trees, guided by caring and dedicated teachers, fills me with gratitude. The curriculum is child-led, play-based, and perfectly tailored to their developmental needs. What sets DIG apart is its transparency and genuine commitment to fostering a supportive community. There are no pretenses here—just compassionate educators who remain consistently supportive and engaged, from morning drop-offs to afternoon pickups. As a parent, I've had the opportunity to participate in the school's parent-provider shifts and attend their invaluable support groups. These experiences have only deepened my appreciation for the nurturing environment DIG provides. With options for TK-aged children, it's not just a preschool; it's a haven for families seeking a genuine educational community. My daughter now shares in the joy of DIG, and as a family, we couldn't be happier. Leaving will be bittersweet, as DIG has become an integral part of our lives—a testament to its exceptional care and dedication to childhood enrichment.

DIG is such an amazing place for young children to grow and learn. The teachers are incredible--truly caring and respectful, and they apply all the latest research on how to foster a growth mindset and encourage social and emotional learning while giving kids room to be kids. It seems like everything I have read and tried to implement at home, DIG is already doing. We did a ton of research on different westside preschools and are so happy we found DIG!
