Our daughter has been at D2D for the last 1.5 years and she (and we) love it! It really has been everything we hoped for in a daycare center. The director and assistant director are extremely professional and the teachers are warm and competent- they feel like an extension of our family. We love the regular updates about her day and seeing all the fun things she gets up to! They have a really nice menu and the kids eat family style, which is adorable. The Bright Horizons curriculum is very good, but I also like the vibe of the center which is very baby/kid-focused and not trying to market itself as a college prep program :P Also, the stroller parking is a big help and not a guarantee in the area! Car pick-up and drop-off is also easy.
Our daughter has been at Detour in the South Loop for about a year and we have nothing but positive things to say! She has been in two classes during her time there and all of her teachers have been amazing. Everyone, not just her teachers know her and she absolutely loves going. Audra has gone above and beyond to work with us and be flexible, responsive and understanding. She even stepped in to personally help our child when she was having a hard time getting dropped off in the morning and it makes it so nice for us as parents to feel comfortable knowing our daughter is getting great attention and care!
We love Detour! My son spent 4 years there (through the pandemic) and was so advanced when he got to Kindergarten. My 3 year old daughter has been there since she was 6 months old and fallen in love with all her teachers. Many of the teachers have been there for years and are like family. The philosophy of learning and discovery guided by nurturing teacher has fostered her independence and helped her thrive. She has also learned to manage her emotions well and clearly communicate her preferences, which has been so helpful.
We have had such a wonderful experience at D2D. Both our son and daughter attend, and the teachers are warm, attentive, and genuinely care about them. Although there are daycares closer to our home, we’ve chosen to stay at D2D because our kids love it so much. We particularly value D2D’s focus on social-emotional learning and skill-building.
Detour is a great place to send your kids too, they bring a level of security, and assurance for parents. They will help set your child in the right path to develop properly and be well rounded. The only con is there’s a slight increase at the end of each year. Regardless It a great center that I will always be grateful because they showed up when they were needed and provided great service
